It was awesome! Night had a great vibe even when it got down to the last few  Great to see fresh faces in the crowd, everyone was happy :)
And yes, CL is far better live than any kind of recording I've heard :p |

yeah, what a cracking night. no bull. no cheese. just tough, driving trance. he had the dancefloor in this endless groove the whole time -- much respect to the man.
room had a nice crowd in - was reasonably busy. big ups to chris pana for a GREAT warm-up set. he did the job just beautifully :) |

did a kind of review on itm for his new album, posting here for yall too -
All or Nothing.
OKay, first let me start by saying I am a massive fan of this guy, so it'll probably be a bit biased. heh.
The thing about Christopher Lawrence is he has a sound that is so identifiable. The CD is not mixed, I read somewhere he wanted all the tracks on the album to be able to stand alone as great peices of music, and well for the most of it they do.
The first track on the Album 'Saboteur' sets the mood perfectly for the rest of the album, driving with the lost element of FUNK that seems to be lacking in so much of todays trance. The word Abstract comes to mind, with builds that are traditional trance builds, but not trance as most of you know it.
Freefall is vocal trance, but guess what? its done differently. Probably one of the more easy listening track on the album.
Untitled Dub With Noises, is up there with my favourites on this CD. Cruisy Melodic breaks with the signature acidic sound running through them.
Octobers Child is more the hard dance version of Christopher. It has the thumping bass, and a very catchy 'ringing bell' melody which could make this one a bit of a biggie.
Mind Eraser is the exact reason I am such a big fan of this guy. THIS IS TRANCE BIATCHES.
Halo has a slightly more tribal feel to it, nice Bjork like vocals, a real spooky feeling, and a sort of sense of urgency (that runs through the whole album to be honest) .
Hot Rod is a slick hard dance number, but its good hard dance . (actually lets call it psuedo psy trance).
Renegade and Nitro are calssics, I dont really have to review them.
New Day is once again, cracking melodic breaks, with spooky piano riffs. Makes me really think of dawn on a new day
Warp was done with BK a couPLa years back, its not bad, a little hard dancey for my tastes, but does really exPLode on a dance floor.
Rush Hour is another one of those been around tracks, but god, hear this live in a club and you melt.
His sound is spooky, its driving, SLEEK - like liquid, its almost music suited to a horror film or something. You get a real sense of urgeny, and you can see how this translates to the dancefloor - keeping punters on their toes all the time.
Its intelligent music, yet anyone can get it.
All in all I really think this is a great Dance Music album. This music and his DJing are really what set him apart from a lot of other trance djs - He knows what he does is for the dancefloor, he knows the purpose of the music, and he doesnt try to make it something it isnt. He doesnt bull around. Really worthwhile buy.

KFC wasn't necessary, I carried Scotty's remains home in a champagne bucket :tongue2
The fact you and Myles actually went and asked the dude at 7-11 was brilliant! Too bad their cleaners only work on Wednesdays :p
I think it was Trev and Myles who went? My memory is a little unclear  |

LTF i think he played saboteur .. not 100% sure..
i reckon chris lawrence is not for ASOT fanatics, or maybe let me rephrase that: for those whom 'edgy' trance is not their cup of tea!

Had a sensational night! Christopher Lawrence was farking awesome :eyes: really a refreshing change from some of the stale sound so many big names are playing atm. I have never heard trance played with so much groove to it. His mixing was not quite world no.7 at times but he more than made up for it with unbelievable track selection. christopher > armin :tongue3.
I have to admit the support line up really did the job perfectly! The vibe in the place was the best i've felt in ages right through the night. |
