Basically ive been using traktor to mix my stuff for a while using mouse and keyboard. I've reached a zenith and cant go any further without the help of a mixer. I figure its time to buy one. All I need is something that will hook up to my audigy2 and it must have 3 band eq on both. Double volume control, master vol control, a crossfader - basically everything traktor provides minus the techey stuff. Barebones mixer. Any recommendations? Ive got 100 bucks and I dont like ebay :) Also what kind of cable would I need to buy? Thanks in advance.

you can't get much of a mixer for $100. The only ones i can think of is the behringer djx400 which is crap, and the stanton smx-201 which is also total crap. The cheapest one that i can think of that will be half decent will be the denon dnx100 for around $250. But then again, it's a new mixer and only time will tell how good it is.

just remember, your not gonna get much of a good mixer for <$100. Any and every cheap mixer will have problems, for example, many including that numark and stanton won't hahve vca faders, thus when they begin to wear, you hear pops, crackles, and other noticable crap very shortly after purchase, also the eqs won't be as good as traktor's, also there probably won't be a crossfader curve. I honestly think you'll be better off saving your money instead of buying crap that will die. If i remember correctly, guitar center has stanton sa-5's on clearence for $200, and i seriously think that new denon dnx100 will be a good bargin. Another good, inexpensive mixer to check out is Ecler's Concept series, but if you can spend the extra money, i would advise you to look into the ecler smac series as well...

How about a MIDI controller to control the functions of the Traktor mixer?

MIDI is a standard for communicating between different audio equipment, like keyboards and sequencers and synthesizers and stuff. You can also get MIDI controllers that connect to your computer through USB, and Traktor can assign all the controls to different controls in Traktors.
Personally I've used an Evolution 449c but it is a full MIDI keyboard, which is overkill unless you want to get into producing music as well. This one is more for controlling software like Traktor: http://m-audio.com/products/en_us/XSession-main.html |

If you just need a basic mixer get good older one. If that makes sense. A pioneer djm-300 can be had for $200. no bells and whistles just good 2 channel mixer. Mine has been working great for 4 years. Its better than buying current bottom of the line for about the same price. If you need other functions it would be worth saving for a better unit.
