So I guess the many that died in the hurricanes and the billions of dollars in damage mean nothing then, huh?
What the hell does the size of a nation have to do with how much money is donated? How much money has Russia donated?
Seems that people bitch whenever America involves themselves in "other nations' business", then when they back off just a little, people bitch at America for not helping. The world is full of hypocrites...:( |

Using ratio logic of land mass to relief fund spending, Antartica should be donating the most? Oh oh oh... wait! I got it, the countries with the most money should be donating the most. Ok Finland! Time to fork it over.

True. Everyone's bitching and complaining about America but if they ever get attacked who are they going to look to for help? The UN? Get real. |

Just curious, how much money did anyone give to the U.S. for Hurricane relief? |
The USA managed to give £7.2 billion to Florida alone.
While I do agree that it's a completely different scenario, barely comparable, it does go to show the scale of funds available to them. |

You just proved my point exactly. When a travesty strikes the U.S., the attitude is "Oh them, they have plenty of money."
When a travesty strikes another country, the attitude is "Oh them, if that's ALL their going to donate"
I didn't know it was our global responsibility to make sure we have billions of dollars set aside just in case a natural disaster strikes a foriegn country. |

That just goes to show that America doesn’t need the financial assistance and, to be honest, I wouldn’t think that they’d accept anything too substantial if it were to be offered, in order to keep their pride intact.
It’s not their global responsibility, but they should take the initiative, considering the finance they’ve pumped into the war on terrorism. |

Money is not my issue. My issue is the attitude towards the U.S. This thread is perfect example of that.
It seems that whatever the situation is and whatever our stand is, it will somehow be viewed as 'wrong' or 'not enough' or whatever by everyone who doesn't live here. |
