I got this email today about a friend of mine

This is hannah, one of rochelle's friends from Hawaii, I got this e-mail through a friend from her parents. If you have heard from her, e-mail her parents and please let me know as well. I'm very worried about her. By the way, did anyone else know she was in Thailand, I thought she was supposed to be in Europe . . .I don't know.
This is Rochelle's parents. We are wondering if by any chance any of you have heard from Rochelle in the past week. She was staying in Thailand with her partner and nothing has been heard from either of them in the past week. I am appealing to anyone that has heard from them or knows any other email addresses of the couple they were traveling with Mike and Louise from Melbourne Australia to please email us at this account as soon as possible.

ouch. i know the feeling
we had a friend from NY who had gone to Chennai. India (one of the cities hit) and had landed there just the night before. She even called us from teh airport
we only heard from her a week later, but luckily she was safe and sound.
hopefully you guys will hear from your friend. |

the ONLY good thing i can think of right now is that this girl is not very good at keeping her parents updated on where she is. And she travels ALOT so she very well could have been in Europe.
Let's hope she was
Funny story about her. I was in London England and didnt even know she was there and ran into her at a train station. Shes aussie and im Canadian (we met in toronto) and there we are in Victoria station with a chance meeting. Small world for sure. |

Sorry to hear :(
I don't know her unfortunately, but I hope that everything works out and that you hear from her soon.
There is a girl at my work who has lost her whole immediate family...I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. I do know that there are still some areas that are unable to get access to internet/cell phone signals/phone. |

| Apparently the Toronto Star published the names of the 150 missing Canadians....not really sure I agree with that....its no ones business but the families.... |

I agree with it because i personally looked up a few names on there of people whom i thought may by chance be there (acquantances but still people i think of).
That list put my mind at ease about quite a few people. Also what if aquantances see the name and say "hey! i got an email from him last sat!".
This list is a good idea. |

There are definitely pros and cons.
The biggest con I heard was on the news last night.
Apparently in Sweden, they listed their missing people and the missing people's homes were robbed shortly after... :wtf: |

what kind of piece of could do something like that??? :mad: :mad: :mad:
wasn't it one part of BC, during the relatively recent forest fires, some people who vacated their houses came back to find that they had been looted? unbelievable. |

im so sorry to hear that :(
i know so many people who were there too, some who are alright and some who are missing :(
but i think she is probably okay, people who suck at keeping in touch and who are not there (in the area affected) usually dont think that people might think they went there... (weird sentence but i hope you understood :p) |
