is it overselling yourself if you give a followup call and ask about getting a gig?
or, as an owner, would you think "i listened to the CD, and if i wanted the dude to play here, i would have contacted him"...

| call them it makes you sound like you give a . just like any job dont wait for a million years for a reply. give them a call and ask if they have listened to it and what they think. if its a no ask re reasons why not and work on them for the next time. |

keep in mind club owners and promoters are very busy people
wait at least a week before giving them a call
then when you do don't ask if you can get a gig, as if they had a chance to listen to the cd and if so, what they thought of it |

| i wouldn't call, but i would raise it in conversation with the promoter at said night. i would also leave it a few weeks. |

| Most of the time, if they like it they will get back to you. It is good to be persistent, but its easy to over do it. |
