| I also found out that this movie was filmed entirely on a blue screen... like Sin City, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and Immortal. |

| this was actually the very first movie to be released that was entirely blue screen, beating sky captain by 5 months... |

I think the real discrepancy was between when the 4 of them were shot. Not released. |

gee...thanks mr. imdb...
http://imdb.com/title/tt0405821/trivia
| quote: | | One of several films around the world that was produced almost entirely on a "digital backlot" (i.e. shot with the actors in front of blue/green-screens with all backgrounds added in post-production, a technique which has been used for TV, video and video game production for many years). Although which movie was shot first is debated, the other movies (released in 2004-05) include: Immortel (ad vitam) (2004), Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004), and Sin City (2005). |

Okay. I finally watched it last night. Visually, it's incredible. The graphics are awesome and there's always something cool going on in the backgrounds. Whether it be gears moving, a nice bright moon with clouds in front of it, or fireflies. Dope.
Basically... throughout the whole thing, I was this: :conf:. They really don't do a great job of explaining things as they happen and you just have to try and figure it out or just chalk it up to being a weird japanese sci-fi movie. They kind of tie everything together in the end, but I still had a lot of questions.
Anyway, it's good if all you're looking for is eye candy. If you're looking for a great story, ehhh, not so sure. |

ok...so for the ones who have seen it: is it worth me waiting to catch it on the big screen?? because if it's not as great as the trailer makes it out to be, i could simply buy it and watch...
your thoughts guys?? |

I mean... the visuals are DEFINITELY worth seeing at a theatre. But the story does leave much to be desired. |
