So you can set marks where you want cut so you can prev/next when you get it on a cd. Should be able to set all the marks at once, cant be bothered to cut out one and one part.

Just something quick and easy, nothing fancy, preferrably freeware.

In advance, thanks :)

it sounds like you want to chop a mix up so you can have multiple tracks instead of one long track?
if so, you don't need a program, just read through this thread

that easy eh, thanks a lot :))

remember, nero doesn't like cue files with mp3s so you will have to convert to wav if you want to burn a cue file
i forget what program it was that could burn a cue file with mp3

Is there actually a program that can do this cause i've been asking around (ok not on here but in general) For AGES!

I've got a lot of sets (around 550 or so) and would love to be able to put some of these with 'track marks' on them.. but with mp3 you can't literally make a track mark as you'll have the infamous gap then.

So i suppose i'm just asking you lot instead (and i don't mean to hi-jack this thread, sorry) but can you actually have track marks on an mp3 file?

Thanks,

nelly :)

edit: having read the above link CDRwin can use .cue sheets on mp3... interesting I'll have to try this. Dunno what the outcome will be though :)

i would like to also have a program that will take a liveset and seperate the tracks out of it onto mp3s so i can easily find songs on my ipod without having to listen to whole sets

Hmm the ipods seek time is quite small too, i wonder if having sets in 20min slots on our ipods would work well?

Then again it's not my ipod that i'm worried about it's my car. Unfortunately my pioneer head unit (P80MP) doesn't allow you to wind forward that quickly when listening to an mp3 file.

Also on the subject of ipods, they're pretty damn good at winding forward. D'you not think so? I mean click the center button and give it socks winding forward and you usually end up 45min+ into the mix :)

I can see where you're coming from with convenience though.

ps. i've asked quite a few places and they've all told me its not possible with mp3's so i'm not keeping my hopes up.

What we need now is DVD's in car. Well cheaper DVD head units. That way we can have .WAV files on them with loads of track marks :D problem sorted.. lol

for that you'll want to use exact audio copy
it will take the cue file and split an mp3 into the individual tracks based on the info in the cue file

Will those files play as a single file then or will there be breaks between each split?

cheers,
nelly
