heyy, ive been readin alot on here for like da paste 7 months, never got to post anything...
My setup is.
keyboards:
korg triton
Computer:
Pentium 4---3.1 Ghz
1 Gb ram
160 Gb hard drive
Dual layer burner
Asus P4P 800 E deluxe mother board
Software:
Reason 2.5
Soundforge 6
Sonar 3
Ive been learnin alot from this site, but im startin to have problems as i goo. I was just wonderin how do u guys put ur drum tracks together....This is wut i have been doin laltely with my songs
I make the drums in reason, and then export it as wav and bring it into sonar to add effects and put together...i dunt make alll of the drum track in reason i just make like 4 beats and loop it after in sonar..Im wonderin is this how u guys do it, or do i need to make the whole drum track in reason and export it.
I also have my triton hooked up to sonar where i record my sounds on my triton to a midi track, and then record that midi track to audio...I get someeee latency when i record a midi track. But when i come to open vanguard , and use my triton as a midi controlller i get wayyyyyyy more latency, and its eatin my cpu. Is my sound card the problem?.... I have a edirol USB midi interface. Thankss |

I was used to make drum loops in FL then export them to wav and import to Cubase. However, I started to use FL more often to make a whole track, but I'll probably switch back to old method because I love the Cubase pianoroll and sequencer. |

I make loops (4 beats in one loop). I make one loop for open hat, another for shakers, third for 2 or more closed hats and so on, one for congos.. |

why you dont use reason rewire with sonar?you can work with both of them in the same time and it doesnt slow you cpu neither.i had big problems with the latency of my ex sound card(EDIROL UA-20) so insted of asking myself what i can do and why is slowing down my cpu...i bought an EMU 1820M and i can tell you is the best that you can get at that price. |

Is it not possible to do everything on your korg triton ( instead of using sonar and reason ) cause it has a build-in sequencer I believe :) |

I do all my drums in Reason (ReDrum or NNXT or even NN19) but put all my fills on seperate track. Sometimes I'll use a seperate track for each drum with each fill for each drum seperate too, rewire through to Tracktion if I want VST effects.....I can use a different chain of effects on each drum then.... |

so in reason when i create a drum machine, and load all my samples in there....Do i layout all the drum tracks in reason like all 3 minutes of the song lets say and then Export each track ( drums, percussions, hi hats..) seperately. So wen i take it into sonar and eq wute ver it will be same to alll the hi hats in the song.... I duno if anyones understandin wut im sayin :(
sorry im only 17 years old my mind aint like all of u on here lol |
