Ok, it makes little crackles when it starts up, and these continue in for like the first half hour of use, I have never heard it after that.
At first I thought it might be static in my RCAs but then I noticed that I hear the crackle through my headphones too, so I'm guessing that means its the mixer?
I dont think its the faders, because I have not had the mixer for very long, and they are clean and everything, also the crackling doesnt happen when I move the faders. Just while music is playing it will give off the odd bit of noise now and then.
Someone told me to leave my mixer on overnight for once. Should I do this? Will it help?
Its always been doing it, since I've gotten it, but I never worried about it, because it didnt seem like a big deal. Now I'm like...noticing it more and worrying over it, so its annoying me more.
Should I take it back? Or is there something I should do? |

| You sure it ain't something else like decks, needles or CDJs or something. |

I'm strictly using cdjs right now.
I dont see how it could be them. |

When you say had, do you mean you still have it, or it went away?
If it went away, what did you do?
Anyways, I bought mine recently too...this summer in fact. I didnt use it heavily for months though, because the s3000s I got had to go back to the store. So it really hasnt been in use long. |

I had this mixer but it was the faders on mine, one of them started to crackle when it reached the top. I know you said its not the faders but i thought i should post to let you know there are problems with the mixer.

well i have had mine 1.5 years, given it a load of hammer and its still as good as the day i bought it :p
as for the problem, sounds like external static. sometimes things cause this for me, like central heating switching on/off... have you tried moving the mixer to another area of the house to see if it still does it? try to eliminate as much as possible.. i certainly haven't heard this problem before.
my guess as to why they are discontinuing, is because they will have a new version lined up to succeed it. |

| i think dust causes the cracking noises... always keep your mixer covered with a sheet or t-shirt or somethin |

I cover all of my equipment with a sheet when its not in use.
Its very new like I said.
It makes the noises when all of the faders are down (0) just as loud as if they were up (10) its more noticable of course when the faders are down, because theres no music.
It did it when it was in my bedroom before, its now in the computer room and it still does it. Buy maybe my whole house if ed?
After searching other forums, I've heard of 6 other people who describe the same problem with the same mixer.
I hear the noise in the headphones, as well as in the speakers, so I'm pretty sure this means its internal.
The thing I'd like to know is why it doesnt happen after its been on a good while? |
