The courts have said that the Liberals cant restrict the 407 from raising tolls. Another empty promise.

Im still waiting for my 10% cut in auto insurance too.

Except say what you want about them, the tories did a pretty good job at keeping most promises.

This sort of attitude is a direct result of decades of Lieberal rule.

More likely that the conservative-biased media outlets (Canwest Global, Globe and Mail) do a better job of pointing out any Liberal broken promises than they did for the Tories.

Last i checked most publications and media outlets in Canada were leftwing.

The only true conservative voice Canada has is the Post. (even they are that conservative)

Hey wasn't it Jayx1 who said he supported the 407 tolls and Corporations making huge profits.
So then why be upset....if they are doing what you support?

Re: "say what you want about them, the tories did a pretty good job at keeping most promises"

It's not so hard to keep a promise which involves mostly cut backs.
Either way....tories, liberals, NDP....they're all starting to be one and the same now.

407 can do whatever they want. However it was the Liberals who promised that they couldnt.

So either the Liberals shouldnt have made that promise in the first place or they should follow through on it. Im not complaining about the 407 rates going up. Im complaining about yet another empty promise from mcguinty

At the rates we have now, they should be dropping by about 80%.

The insurance situation in Ontario is one that the Ontario government created:
- Insurance companies have access to driving records without the driver's consent (in Quebec and most U.S. states, this is considered to be none of their business)
- Insurance is mandatory for all drivers
- Premiums are completely unregulated
- Government skims a load from the insurance companies, so half of your premiums go to a bureaucratic black hole

Insurance cos. should not have access to things like traffic ticket history and it should be illegal for them to raise premiums after making a claim (like it just about everywhere else). If they raise premiums after a claim then that's not even true insurance - the point of insurance is that the premiums themselves pay for the damage, NOT the inevitable post-claim rate hike.

I remember a lot of empty promises from the tories too...but who care now........it's what politics is all about. You can't just single one...and exculpate the other...especially not when they all...make promises...for an election.

Some day you should end this fixation against the liberals...b/c there are a lot of positive things out there...and it makes no sense to keep complaining.
Leave the complaining to the snot nosed that have nothing better to do.
