ya no.
Dekoze is amazing, this coming from a scene kid. But alot of circuit queens do not know good music at all, so a huge trance name will be a hard sell. As mentioned above i think, Sander Kleinenberg or Deko-ze, or even Ferry Costen would be great...Mark Oliver as well.
Gabriel & Dresden isnt gay enough...lol So i think they ae out of the question.

Also the Orange Room gross! Gay men like class not the Orange room.

Kool Haus - gross as well. It should be at the Convention Center at the CNE...

Then why do so many gay parties happen at Guv and KH?
There are many many things that go into an event of this size - it's not as easy as saying "let's have it at the CNE instead of the docks this year." Coordinating a venue for pride requires logistical genius - and an ideal venue. |

things are shaping up nicely here...
the docks was a mess last year in terms of sheer number of people.
looking forward to this years events :) especially the street parties!!!! |

Is this year's main event being run in conjunction with Pride Toronto, or is it totally separate?
Everything seemed to be running along smoothly for several years when it was all privately-operated, up until last year's fiasco. The other parties last year (aside from the main event) seemed to get a much better reaction / response. |

Pride will not be involved in organizing any of the PRISM events this year. Although, to thier credit, it wasn't Pride's fault that the insurance was cancelled at the CNE and we had to switch venues a week before the event last year and Pride provided PRISM with a huge amount of resources.
Besides insurance, another big reason why the event isn't happening at the CNE this year is the costs of having a party there. The CNE provides absolutely nothing and will not negotiate the costs. You must use their equipment and labour and pay union wages. The cost difference between a party at the CNE and one at Guvernment or The Docks for the same number of attendees is $100,000 (no exageration).
We moved last year because of the insurance not the cost. The costs of moving an event to The Docks at the last minute were equal to the extra cost of staying at the CNE. If we had the insurance, as far as cost was concerned, we were better off to stay at the CNE. |

hmmmm, after last year's fiasco at the docks is the prism group really in a position to gamble on this years event and try a new approach? shouldn't the focus be damage control and trying to regain people's trust that this years event will make up for last years? at least if i was in charged that would be my main goal...book tracy young,or calderone or lehman or one of the main stays that the circuit crowd swoons over and hope people have short memories and come back in droves.....
i understand where people are coming from in this thread...personally i'll take a night of trance or techno or prog over circuit house any day of the week....but each event and club serves a purpose...the majority of guys showing up at pride parties expect their circuit house...the majority of guys also know that other bars around the city are playing different types of music and they are more than welcome at those places as well....
i would love to see armen or ferry or tiesto at a pride party...and maybe some year that would be an iteresting move...just not sure if this year is the year considering how last years event went... |

I say do both. Get a trance and a house headliner. Maybe you won't be able to afford the top tier this way, but at least you can cater to almost everyone. Besides, there are so many good djs out there, you guys don't need to go out and blow :D all your money on just one.
