| Okay, I have two MK2s and a Stanton SMX-301 mixer that I just bought. I have RCA cables going from my my mixer into my sony mini system, everything seems to be working fine except I notice a significant loss of sound quality; worse than when I play a regular CD in my system. I was wondering if this is normal? I know records should have just as good sound quality as CDs, if not then better. |

What carts are you using?
Is the stanton mixer used?
Could be the rca too...does it sound bad through the headphones? (the ones plugged into your mixer) |

| Ya I'm using the stanton smx-301 and i also have Stanton 500 AL needles. It doesn't sound very good on the headphones either. |

| Stanton AL500 carts don't have very good sound quality to begin with and if your stylii are worn you'll definitely hear a decrease in sound quality. The Stanton mixers don't help the sound quality either. Try saving up for some better carts. |
