| Bugger, it would appear that we'll still be seeing gales from time to time well into next week. :o |

| ’twas quite blowy. My window, which I wanted open just a bit, kept getting blown all the way open creating quite an extreme microclimate in my room. Damn my need to sleep with the window open. :( |

classed as a hurricane strength wind. an anticyclone weather storm is completely different to a hurricane weather system :)

:haha:
Apparently mine did. Heh, GCSE Geography my arse.
EDIT: That reminds me, I walked out of my house yesterday and a few paces down the road I saw a proper mountain of rubble piled all over the road. Turns out someone had their entire roof blown onto the road. The thing is, it's all still there two days on. I think the poor bastard is on holiday or something. :clown: |

We're in for some exceptionally wild weather again tommorow, quite possibly exceeding the severity of Friday night's storm. Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England are to bear the brunt of it with gusts of 90-100mph and more heavy rain adding to current flooding problems. Elsewhere gusts of 60-70mph are expected, which is still enough to bring down trees and cause structural damage. Eep! :nervous:
If you think that 100mph gusts are piffle, then pop yourself over to the Shetland Islands where winds are expected to reach Hurricane Force 12, the highest rating possible on the Beaufort Scale. Woo!
Here's what the pressure chart looks like for Tuesday:
