| Upon my first listen I skip through and decide if I like it or not and if I like it I will listen to it in it's entirity. |

| of course one must listen to the whole track.. the beauty of much of the tracks is the elements in the intro and outro as well as the main elements.. i fact I hate people skipping in tracks.. especially those skipping to the melodic parts |

word! theres no point of listening a track by skipping it here and there;its like watching a movie while skipping every part of it except for the action scenes without understanding the dialogues or the story.

The beauty of music is not the parts of the song by themselves, but the song as a whole. Skipping parts of a song is like skipping pages in a book. Yes, the ending is what we're all waiting for, but you can't fully appreciate the ending if you skipped parts along the way.
When I get bored with a song, I concentrate and listen to it even more intently to make sure that I pick out every last detail that the song has. Sometimes I don't hear anything new, but other times I am amazed by the minute details in the background that fill in around the foreground. So next time you get ready to skip over something, stop for a second and look for other parts of the song that you may not have heard. |

I'm glad I don't seem alone on this one.
I always listen to the entire track at least once. If I am convinced that I wouldn't make it through the whole thing another time around, I get rid of it. Yet I have a rather large collection both physical and digital. |

Great opinions here guys :)
And just to clarify, I listen to the whole track. I don't know why some of you think that I skip some parts. Just because I asked this question doesn't mean I don't listen to the whole track :)
Now... here's another question:
If you don't listen to the whole track and you skip the intro, outro or any other part of the track, is something wrong with you?
I mean if you listen to Trance music for a long time and you're not listening to the whole track can it be that you don't love Trance music like you think you do?

Dickie you have a massive finger!

I usually listen to the entire song, especially for songs I know I like already. I will sometimes skip if I find a part boring or if I am in a hurry to listen to it. |
