The number 1 jungle track of 2004 was awarded to Pendulum.
Download it and tell me what you guys think? Coming from a non-junglist point of view, do you think it deserves to be number 1?
Pendulum - Another Planet
You can stream the track here.

IMO yes, there was a lot of work put into it and it's really trancey and epicy, still maintain the darkness & bodness of Jungle.
(even if your not into jungle at all, just do me this favor ppl ... I want to hear from you all:)) |

coming from a non-junglist point of view, this is the dumbest thread ever. how the can we say it deserves to be #1 or not if we have no other tracks to compare it to?

The track is supposed to be judged solely on its own merit. Can you imagine trying to pick the number #1 trance song? There are so many that are popular in there own right. It would be virtually impossible to pick something that would be mutually agreed upon by everyone. Based on everyones relative experience with music in general, independant of genre, does this jungle track or trance track or house track deserve to be awarded such an honour. If the track can appeal to people outside of the jungle scene then it stands on its own merit.
Anyways I like the complexity of the track, the epicy trancey nature of it gives it an original sound.

I dunno man, this track seems very amatuerish to be quite honest. Like something that a 15 year old dreamt up while he was on a cystal meth binge. It's furious all right, but those sounds -- ugh, kinda corny and cheap. Like some really bizarre video game where Mario is running around consuming magic mushrooms.
Frankly, there isn't much epicness to the track for me either...it all sounds disjointed, with sudden buildups and rather oddly placed vocals (which themselves seem rather week). If anything the epicness seems to be a rip off from the old school trance tracks, what with the drum rolls and the beat drop.
Meh, maybe i'm having a hard time appreciating it cause i'm not a harccore junglist fan (although i have heard some good jungle tracks before).
I'd give this one a 3/10...and two thumbs down. |

i really dont think that song deserves to be #1... i havent listened to any of the others yet, but it sounds too I dont know.. bubbly.... if it were more hard an dirty (get ur minds out of the gutter people) then it would definetly be #1 in my books.... |

The reason why I think it deserves number one ... al ot of ty tracks came out in 2004, that's the only one that really good. So many girly tunes these days in 2004 and everything is ty.
The reason why I asked, this track is really old ... it came our right after the The Vault. I'm suprised it's number 1 for 2004 and when I first heard it, it was cheesey.
What I'm trying to say is ... with recent productions = yes and compaired to older productions = no.
Still love the song of 2003, Dillinja - Twist'em Out. |

I totally agree. And yeah, I was always favoring towards Pendulum's material, they have some quality to them. For sure, #1
P.S. Twist'em Out is awesome! |
