Crossfire was cancelled, this is new to me, dont know about anyone else
:( its gonna be sad to see tucker go:(
although, on a lighter note, tucker is supposed to get a 9 pm slot on MSNBC
the reason for the cancelling is that the producers beleive no one wants to see a debate show, which I think is bull. Also tucker quit back in april but his contract bade him to stay on. |

| I wonder if it had anything to do with the points Stewart brought up. CNN is one of my few trusted news sources, next to Fox News, and I would be over joyed if it was cancelled because they thought it was getting too theatrical. Would show they are worth trusting. |

| I saw the stewart episode of crossfire, and if you look at it, passingly even its easy to spot that all he is doing is rabble rousing and bringing up absolutly no valid points, he was rude and called tucker a dick on a his show that he was invited to by him, he was basically an hypocritcal showing little integrity |

Yeah. I heard about that. Tucker also played a part though.

He did bring up valid points you just have to interpret them I suppose. He was saying that shows like Crossfire bring nothing to journalistic integrity and are only used as a method to promote the political machines and agendas of politicans. "Theater" he called it, as in not the real world picture but sort of a fabricated image intended to be seen by the public. |

he made the accuastions, but he cited no examples - he was basically picking straws, seeing if they would stick.
Regardless, I don't think Stewart did much for the end of the show - the show was dying for a couple years now, they moved it from primetime down to compete with Oprea...
I think people like debate shows, i.e. Hanity vs. Combs, but the problem here is the show was basically only Tucker. |

CNN has ended its relationship with the conservative commentator Tucker Carlson and will shortly cancel its long-running daily political discussion program, "Crossfire," the new president of CNN, Jonathan Klein, said Wednesday night.
Carlson said he had actually quit "Crossfire" last April and had agreed to stay on until his contract expired. He said he had a deal in place for a job as the host of a 9 p.m. nightly talk program on MSNBC, CNN's rival.
One NBC News executive said that no deal had been completed between MSNBC and Carlson.
"Tucker is a great journalist and we are exploring options with him for a 9 p.m. job," said Jeremy Gaines, a spokesman for MSNBC.
"I don't know what CNN is saying," Carlson said. "But I have no dispute with CNN."
Klein said the decisions to part company with Carlson and to end "Crossfire" were not specifically related, because he had decided to drop "Crossfire" regardless of whether Carlson wanted to stay on.
Klein specifically cited the criticism that the comedian Jon Stewart leveled at "Crossfire" when he was a guest on the program during the presidential campaign. Stewart said that ranting partisan political shows on cable were "hurting America."
Klein said Wednesday night, "I agree wholeheartedly with Jon Stewart's overall premise." Klein said he believed that especially after the terror attacks on 9-11, viewers are interested in information, not opinion.
"Crossfire" may be continued "in small doses" as part of the political coverage on CNN's other programs, Klein said.

And Jon Stewart didn't have to 'cite exmaples', just watch a single episode of crossfire. in fact, watch that clip of Tucker talking about canada to see what a dumbass he is. The reason Stewart couldn't make his point is cause half the time they kept interrupting him as soon as he started saying something.
And Jon Stewart had made it known before that he hates Crossfire, so it's really only their fault for inviting him. |
