MS Paint on windows 2000 won't let me use JPG & GIF

| problem is pretty much this, can't use any other format other than BMP on the ms paint, I'm not someone who needs a big fancy program, just like to be able to print screen & save the stuff etc, i've done windows update etc and had no luck. Any ideas ? |

| im using 2k aswell and i've had this problem several times. i've forgotten how i got round it to be honest. Have you tried selecting a JPG and open with paint then immediately saving? It may sound stupid but its something like that which solved it for me. ing annoying though, i know. |

"paint cannot read this file"
it is not a valid bitmap file
