Technics 1210's.. mk2 VS. mk3..

Hello again,
If you were to put 1210's up for sale on ebay, would it make any difference what so ever if they were mk2 or mk3?
I know there's no difference basically between the two. But would the mk3's be any way more favourable?

| the only real difference is the fact that a mk3 has a quartzlocked motor, meaning a lack of a notch at 0% on the pitch fader. this might not sound a big difference, but it makes precision around 0% much much better. |

Hi mate,
I'm aware of the differences (not trying to sound abrupt or unappreciative about your reply) :)
But i was wondering whether or not they would go for any more money?
I've bought a set recently and while looking on ebay the average price of the mk2's seems to be a little bit lower then what i paid.
Just wondering if i had to pay to get the mk3's as i really wanted them, or whether i was just stupid paying the amount i did. :)

| I own an MK3, not an M3D, and it still has the click at the 0 pitch. MK3s shouldn't cost more than MK2s. |

I didn't even know there was a difference.. :) Thanks for clearing that up.. and thanks for the answers. I didn't know whether or not the pitch fader having that notch or not was a big deal. Obviously not.. Thanks again

| the on/off switch is also differet on the m3d its harder to accidently turn of like i was reminded when i accidently hit the off switch 2x on the mk2's at a NYE gig during a mix!! |

You can take the notch out of it bothers you. Its just a ball bearing in a spring assembly type thing. MK3 still has the old style MK2 on/off switch M3D has the new style. MK3s were meant for distribution in Japan, they run on 100v instead of 120v. |

One of my turntables is an MK3 and it does not have the click at the 0, it has the on/off switch. |
