I actually find that that track mixes well with pretty much anything...for a while (yeah, about a year ago) it was one of my "pull it out if nothing else works" tracks. Definitely anything proggy it mixes amazingly out of.
What else do you mix? |

| I find this track relativley easy to mix after Solar Stone - Speak in Sympathy. |

The rule is generally this.
If you have a difference of approx 4.5% you have changed the key of the track by one whole semitone i.e. an Am becomes an A#m.
However the key may still sound bad at a 3% because it's closer to the above key. It's kind of a judgement call but at 4.5% it's definately going to sound rough.
Keep in mind that it's based on the differnece between the two pitch positions and not from the 0% point.
Cheers
Nem
PS
I saw that Johny2003 had the above track down as an Em (9A) in the harmonic mixing thread. |

He's mixing it because he likes it. You know, not everyone has your taste in music. |
Very well said, couldn't have said it better myself. :toocool:
Thanks for your help guys, appreciate it. I'm making a mix for my girlfriend and she really likes this song, so I want to mix it in. But my unability to mix it is getting kind of frustrating! I'll let you know how it all goes out. |

thanks! so, on the camelot scale does this mean that a semitone change you add 7? ie so an 8A becomes a 3A? and conversely if you slow something down by 4.5% you subtract seven?
yeah, i think i got the 8A for this track from someone else's post. think id better have a look at it myself :) |

| "Chable & Bonnici -- Ride" is something I usually like to go to after I play that song. It's a fairly "naked" beat on the intro, so there shouldn't be any large key clash. |

The track at 0% is in Em, and a really strangely good mix I found out it was Lange's mix of Pulsar's Global Gathering Theme from 2003 (shows long ago that woz eh?) record it wen u mix it and be very suprised, especially wen the guitar and vocals come back in at the end of Beautiful Things.
Happy mixing dude |
