Tonight NO FULL ASOT, but a 1 hour prerecorded set (most likely a rebroadcast of an older ASOT).
ID&T Radio in Holland is struggling with low ratings (which means low ad revenues) and has been re-organizing their station by adding new shows, canceling other shows and moving show's timeslots.
As a part of this re-org, ASOT was moved to from its original timeslot (14:00 to 16:00) to a later timeslot (17:00 to 19:00) last week.
I suspect the purpose of this move was to allow ID&T to better monetize their evening listenership as ASOT's format was not very conducive for ad sales (non-stop mixes, etc).
Further information was received today - this information being that Armin's show (today) will be 1-hour in length and pre-recorded. Some This is not an official ASOT - not ASOT 183 but Armin van Buuren - Live at Colors Helsinki 05-Nov-2004.
Further information is to follow on the status of ASOT. As of now it is not cancelled, however there is just major uncertainty as to how, where and when ASOT will be aired in the future.
THE FUTURE OF ASOT IS UNKNOWN.

ANNOUNCEMENT: ASOT is NOT going to be cancelled - the show however will be shortened to 1 hour (from 2).

I doubt it, Armin made it clear in his on-air interview with E-vangelist a few weeks ago that he would continue with ASOT, regardless.
I can't speculate, so we'll have to wait for the announcement. |
