He may not have an ASOT radio show or any incredibly famous productions, but this guy can rock a dance floor with a different brand of trance than any other DJ I have seen.

I think he's a guy that the lovers of the Epic Trance (armin, pvd, tiesto etc) as well as the lovers of the prog (digweed, sasha, holden etc) can all appreciate, which is kind of rare these days.

my opinions dont mean much, but he is not a God

Edit: Ive heard a bit of his sets, and I just dont like his style

I have never heard the guy play except the set he done at Creamfields to 2000ish people in 2004, he didn't make an impression at all. Myself and a friend had high expectations after the reputation this guy had made for himself in the US but we were let down miserably, and so too were the thousands of others in the tent i feel.

Admittedly, his mixing was spot-on, but thats not what successful djing is all about, we all know that. He didnt drop any tunes that made the crowd take notice, he didnt get the feel of the crowd at all and couldn't relate to them. He didnt once show any emotion while mixing, just standing there flawlessly for an hour or so.

Obviously i aint gonna say the guys after seeing him once, but i hope he improved since i last saw him. Maybe it was the 5pm slot he had, maybe he was nervous playing to a British crowd (who were mostly students anyway), who knows, but he didnt make a lasting impression on me :)

I'm disappointed he's been here several times in Detroit and I haven't been able to make it to his shows. :(
But I am living vicariously through his mixes that I've downloaded (NOT shared! ;))

Just to show you how the EM is no longer what it used to be, just look at these upcomming guest:

Eddie Halliwell (again heard his name but never heard him)
Ben Watt (unranked house DJ)
Krafty Kuts (heard the name but dont know himn either)

I think this is a question of how much you know. Krafty Kuts is a maaassive DJ in the party-breaks / funk area. Ben Watt..well, have you heard of Everything But The Girl? Massive. Ran his Lazy Dog house nights in London for like 5 years, released two mixCDs under the name of the night, and has now started up his new venture, 'Buzzin Fly Records'. Oh and i get to see him -finally- next month

I saw CL last year for the first time and was more impressed with his performance than I've ever been with any other DJ I've seen. His mixing skills are impressive and his mixes are extremely powerful and energetic...The trance he plays is a million times better and more exciting than Armin's, Tiesto's or PvD's.

...and yes...a well deserved no.7 spot IMO.

christopher lawrence, the one guy who hasnt seen one interview/noobie recognition and manages to squeeze into the top 10...i guess he must be doing something right in the US that he placed so high in that somewhat unimportant poll...but hats off to him, he showed us that u dont have to be OMG I DIE FIFTY TIMES to be succesful.
