Eliminating 'digital silence' (particularly at the end) in files

Hi. I would like to know if there's any program out there designed to get rid of absolute 'digital silence' (like the kind that CD recording programs throw in between tracks (unless you specify otherwise) that's 2 seconds long) in digital audio files, like MP3, Ogg Vorbis, etc. (heck, I'll even just have it in WAV if that's all I can do it with). If there's any way I can do this, thanks very much.
PS: Edit: I'd rather do it with WAV files instead of MP3 or any other lossy audio format. :-) |

Hmm. Maybe I should've mentioned this: I would like the program to automatically scan for the silence and then prompt me about deleting it. |
