The thing is, while the melodies may be good, the kickdrum really kicks all the tracks down a notch, no matter if I listen to the whole album or only one track at a time. This album features, as I said before, some really bad drums.
There is ONE good track where no bassdrum mars the whole thing, namely Namistai on the second disc. I thank BT for his musical excellence. |

completely agree, especially with the last comment.
Also whoever mentioned pvd's continues bass pumping style etc.. is spot on as well. I think that's what makes him quite fun to see as well. He keeps you moving without letting you hang for too long.

Well? Really, this album is, as somebody already said, at the same production level as DJ Sammy. Where is the subtle touch? This is, of course, only my puny opinion, but I'm wondering: does anybody feel the same? |
Don't even try comparing Paul van Dyk to DJ Sammy.
WTF is wrong with you? :p :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:
Out There and Back is PVD's BEST album. EVER.

It could well be, but in that case I fear hearing the rest of it. Connected on Reflections is great.
It could be I've just grow out of this kind of music, it all just sounds blantant and full of unnecessary touch. |

I haven't heard the whole Reflections
To me OTAB just feels childish. |

| it's not like pvd has given himself out as being the most deep producer of times, if that's what you mean |

| I like OTAB. Hell, I like most of PvD's older productions, except some vocal ones like Alive (or is it We're Alive?). No humongous breakdowns, so it's fine in my opinion. :happy2: |
