HUGE thumbs up to Bill Belichick.
For some reason (Peyton Manning) many ppl thought
the Colts would beat the Pats this past Sunday.
I was not one of them.
I am nowhere near being a Pats fan,
but after 2 Super Bowls in 3 yrs, and now shutting down
the Colts to only THREE pts, after averaging nearly FORTY,
you have to at least consider Belichich as being
one the greats of all-time....

IMO, if they win #3 this yr, he IS the best ever

that's what I was saying all along but NO nobody here listens!

brady gonna show you how
doesn't matter how many TD passes manning has thrown
doesn't matter if he's the MVP
he'll be stopped by the pats defense
belichick is a defensive genious, and he'll show that once again

go pats!

God here we go with the Patriots fans! Great team and coach but cant stand them. Hope the Steelers run over them unlikely though.

he is a mastermind of sports.

Hard to believe he was chased out of cleveland...but maybe he needed to be humbled to understand how to be a better coach...Bill walsh i still think is one of the greatest

yeah

I dunno he's done alot of good stuff in a short period of time but the guy sucked when he was with the Browns. He needs to keep this up for a couple more years (hope not)to be with these guys
for example
Vince Lombardi
Don Shula
Bill Walsh
Bill Parcells

Gotta give the Patriots alot of props, they shutdown the number 1 offense in the league.I think also they will take it to the Steelers especially if the the Steelers come out playing the way they did against the Jets.

Now next year when the Patriots offense cordinator leaves to Notre Dame and the other guy leaves to takeover the Browns,it will be different. But if they win 3 in 4 years, cant top that.

Pats fans always say that no one listens and picks against them. I think a lot of us pick against them because that's what we want to see. We hate the Pats. Of course they are mostly Red Sox fans too, which actually makes a lot of sense if you look at it that way. My brain tells me to pick Patriots but my heart sure hopes anybody but them wins.

Belichick has a ways to go before we say that. Jimmy Johnson won 2 Super Bowls with the Cowboys and then had Switzer get a gimme off the talent he drafted, but look what happened to his status once he went to the Dolphins.

Parcells has taken 3 teams to the Super Bowl. Walsh created the west coast offense and won 3 Super Bowls. Walsh also was heavily involved in the player personnel.

Belichick though is the best now, no question. My brain still tells me Pats win again but I'm hoping Big Ben doesn't blow up and the bus keeps chugging. If not, let's see Vick in the Super Bowl and how Belichick designs shiate to stop that freak of nature.

I'm not even a Patriots fan and i've made this statement.

Beieve it or not, i'm a DOLPHIN fan. So they're one of my
ARCH-ENEMIES.....

The Browns question came up: all u need 2 know
is he had no one in Cleveland comparing to the Pats of 2day...

Was it STILL Bernie Kosar then? OMG

Vince Lombardi <== probably one of the greatest football philosophers of all time .. he had a very high football iq .. could beat teams either with the run or the pass.. but most of all, most defense philosophies are based on what he taught ..

Don Shula <== as much of a great coach he was, especially during the 70s, much to my dismay, his football coaching during the 80s and early 90s was purely pathetic, imo .. come on .. at let dan marino have a ring or something .. they had horrible defense .. either blame the def coordinator or the head coach for that .. i dont know .. but they did have a great defense in the 70s..

Bill Walsh <== what a great coach he was .. he really brought the 49ers together .. too bad he couldn't bring his genius to another team outside of california (stanford and san francisco) .. even though he was the creative mastermind of the 'west coast offense', i feel his defensive mind was what brought him to the big games..

Bill Parcells <== as much as people talk about his rings with the giants, i feel this guy is overrated .. ok so he got 2 rings in 86 and 90 ( ????) .. he is a great defensive minded coach, but he cannot put an offense together .. his style is based on the running game .. that's it .. if he coached in the 60s and 70s, he would be great .. but not in this generation ..

back to bill belichick .. what a coach he is .. he had his stumbles in the 80s .. but i feel he was the purely responsible for all of bill parcells success .. and parcells took all the credit for belichick's defensive schemes .. i will tell you this .. i am picking pittsburgh to beat new england, but if bill belichick was running for president of the united states, i would vote for him .. :p

i think you should go to the history store, and get some 80s football tapes .. bernie kosar was a very accurate paser, and knew when to make the right decisions .. although he didn't really have an arsenel behind him (other than eric metcalf and michael jackson (hee hee .. :wtf: :haha: ) .. a good quarterback at the UofM .. i will tell you this .. better than testaverde .

itstruesonic i mean Leopoldstoch :wtf: lol
about shula, he only had one losing season in his long ass career with the Dolphins, which turned out to be bad cause we never had a high draft pick to get some top defensive talent like the other teams that have won the superbowl in the past years. In the 80s he went to 2 superbowls. He went deep into the playoffs a couple of years in the 90s.I think sometimes people forget how hard it is to get to a superbowl.
and He's the winningest coach of all time, coached a perfect season, coached the only team to beat the 85 bears, went to 5 superbowls, won 2 of them :gsmile:

about Parcells, its true that Belicheck was the reason that D was really good, but then you can make the case Belicheck woudnt be as good in New England if it wasnt for off. coordinator Charlie Wiess.Your comment on his old school offensive ways dosnt hold true cause he led the Pats to a superbowl and the Jets to the AFC championship game,in the 90s his style still worked well. Also Parcells was always great in drafting players.

about Bernie
he is one of the best qbs of the 80s.he woudve gonne to the superbowl if it wasnt for "John Elways drive" and "Ernest Byners Fumble"
he beat heavily favored Nebreska in 1983 to win our 1st national championship.
its true that in the 90s that bernie was worned down aready, but heres the thing if Belicheck was such a magician, master, bla bla he woudve found a way to make something out of nothing with those Browns teams just like he has done with the Pats.
He only had one decent season with the Browns (with Vinny at qb) of the 5 years he was there i think.Thats why Im saying the guy sucked in cleveland.

I wonder where Belichecks genius defensive mind was last year during the 2nd half of the superbowl when the Panthers went crazy and almost won(if it wasnt for the out of bounds kickofff penalty by Kasay, what a choke)

p.s leopold thanks for backing me up with the steelers pick lol,it seems like only me and you in this forum see somthing special coming this weekend.hopefully.

damn this class Im in right now is boring :wtf:
