FL...which city rox?

hey guys, i'm from montreal, where finding parties and raves is as easy at it gets
im looking for a job in florida..some one try to convince me which city would be the best to live in *other than miami* :)

Man thats funny... i wish i could live in Canada! People are sooo much nicer up there, and everything costs less (for us anyway)....
I guess I would say Ft. Lauderdale, b/c you are a stone's throw away from Miami (like 30-45 min. drive) and all the South Beach clubs, but you are in the nicer part of South Florida. You are also next to Boca Raton, the really nice neighborhood, and North of you are the Palm Beaches, where all the HUGE money is and some more great clubs (Clematis St.)
You have the biggest outlet mall in the USA here in Ft. Lauderdale (Sawgrass Mills), you have every friggin' store imaginable, ridiculous nightlife. (Ft. Laud. has like 6 different nighttime districts with clubs, restaurants, bars, etc...)
Also, Ft. Laud has a huge downtown, (larger than most states' capital cities....), so if you want that "skyscraper-city look", we have that. We also have excellent beaches (i live like 4 blocks from the beach)... and Ft. Laud. is called "The Venice of America" because we have canals throughout the entire city.... and a lot of drawbridges, but they are cool....
Anyway, i'm not too knowledgeable about all the other cities in Florida, but i'm giving ya my take on Ft. Lauderdale.

| man ft. lauderdale sounds better than i thought, i havent been there since i was 7 years old.......ive been looking at jobs in tampa......but i don't know about that yet |

Jacksonville is the place for you if u like Nascar, Football, and Beer
Other then that ....... we got beaches, thats about it. And as far as the club scene goes. We get a big dj like every 6 months if that...
stay in central florida like ABT said, trust me! |

another Ft. Lauderdale-ian!!! who are you? you should post your info on the "introductions" thread if you haven't done so already so we can better get to know yah.... and maybe even participate in a BBQ... (MAN that hamburger was hella good- you can never put too much garlic powder on tha burgers! :D )
Let me know if you go to clubs a lot, b/c i do, and maybe a bunch of us could all hit one togetha...

well.. sorry but i hate ft. lauderdale... it is becoming so ghetto full of constructions everywhere.. its just another miami downtown...all the clubs are always closing down..theres never anything new to do...
i like AVENTURA... which is between miami and ft. lauderdale.. it ;'s like boca raton but the city is more busy there are more things to do there...but at the same time all the neighborhoods are really nice and clean...
anywhere in palm beach county is cool too...
i like boca.. but everyone who lives there are stuck up.. xoxo Ur Dream Grl |

wow i didnt expect to get this much feedback
i was kinda asking to find out about the rave parties as well...i know space gets most big name djs right?
montreal is really good and i can't complain,,,but I just turned 22, im graduating with my IT and commerce degree in 5 weeks and i want to head down to make some US coin :)

Hey Delstar..Im from Coral Springs which is a lil bit NW of Ft.lauderdale and it is right before Boca Raton.. i love my city.. it is very calm.. there s a lot of things to do (no clubs though)...AND it is the 8th best city to live in the US.. heheheh(well that was back in 99) hehe.. but i still like it..
the only problem here is that the people here have horrible taste in cars.. but oh well..
glad u coming to the us.. let us know ecxactly when u are planning to come we'll be happy to show you around town before you make ur decision and im sure you will have fun...:p

| why on earth would u wanna live in canada? personally, the only nice city with good partying and good looking people is montreal. Toronto stinks in my opinion and ottawa is boring but vancouver is supposed to be awesome. I love florida and love their people (visited 5 times) I like orlando but id like to be closer to the beaches and miami is too "slummy" now. i might come to visit florida in early december...maybe i'll visit coral springs to check out the scene and the companies :) |

Hey Delstar , if you get to meet faye,that is going to be great! :) she is the coolest girl you could ever meet, i just met her when i was there last month with my sister, not to mention she was a great hostess to us,I went to Coral Springs, I liked it, it was a very clean city, but didnt stay there, we stayed in Cocoa Beach and naples which is on the west coast of Florida and it is so boring there,lol,
so whatever you do, stay on the East side, :)
