To all those who have their panties in a bunch. This ad was marketed to Europe, a place where this sort of thing is more likely to take place. Here's a concept that is hard to understand for most people on this side of the pond. MOST SOCIETIES ARE ABLE TO MAKE FUN OF BOTH THEMSELVES AND THEIR CRISES. It's just that we are so damned oversensitive here that every little stupid thing offends us. Remember folks, Europe is a land where naked women sell yoghurt on tv! Advertisers could only dream of having the same creative freedom for north america as they do in europe.

I like how you titled the subject of this jihad, which has nothing to do with suicide bombers, people being misinformed is the issue--and you're one of them.

a) how is that completely different from that video, and how that has nothing to do with the suicide bombers?!?!
b) oh right there is no organization that is called islamic jihad that takes responisibility for like half the bombings

Do I have to list things in A, B, C, for you? Is this why you'd like to think everybody is as slow as you?
a) I kept in mind not to blame you for the video, and neither did I. My point was about you posting something like this (because correct me if I'm wrong, this isnt the first case you point and laugh about these kinds of matter) & you pasting "Jihad" on something like this.
b) A lot of people are misinformed about this, not only you.
c) If you want a clear perspective of Jihad,
-- Jihad: literally, "striving" or "struggle," although it is often used in the theopolitical context of a "holy war." It must be either defensive or to right a wrongdoing. Its truer meaning is subjective and psychological, not objective and political; thus it is said that the "lesser jihad" is the external war with an agressor, while the "greater jihad" is the internal war with oneself, i.e., to be a better Muslim.
In the Quran, it's described as something justified, and way more/opposite than what "The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition" has to say about it.
-- In this case, it's completely obscured to manipulate other's perspective about an entire religion for your misuse of a word that means so much.
By the way, don't worry, I'd never credit you with coming up with something 'ever so clever'; although the poor taste has your name written all over it. |
