Looks nice.
Nothing amazingly new but looks like a good piece of kit.

Actually at first I thought WTF are Pioneer doing, but now I see this could be a good move for the major club installations, theres no FX unit or sampler built in, so this would probably make the clubs go for installing an EFX500 or 1000, making DJs be more creative and not just use the same effects over and over.
But price wise, if you want this and an EFX1000, be prepared to sell your soul. |

| The rotary version looked really good but the price, well, nah. |

| Too many useless features and EQ's. I'm already hating this mixer. |

I'd have to say it doesnt look like anything special.
They have figured out a few things: how to properly wire the XLR main out jack (proper pinning, hot and cold isnt reversed like on the 500/600) -- that curve control requires more than three settings -- that thier EFX units suck ass.
The real question: does it sound any better than the previous DJMs, do the EQs still suck, and do they still heat up and break often? |

With no effects unit, I wouldnt put it past Pioneer to put out something with comparable sound quality to the A&H. The thing that has always dirtied the sound on the 500/600/3000 was the interaction it had routing around the effects unit, and that on the 500/600 at least it dropped it down to 44.1khz/16bits durring effects.
Im optomistic about this mixer. |
i too am waiting to see what this mixer can do
especially if there's no effects, they had to have spent all the R&D on sound quality
buying this would work well with the efx-1000, which i'm sure they've taken into consideration in the design |

| I wont buy it, but I do hope it makes the 500/600 go a little lower in price. Thats all I need . |
