Company lunch room fridge policy

I know this is quite random but what's your companies lunch room fridge policy?

Like does it get cleaned weekly ? Are you not supposed to leave stuff in there overnight? etc etc

The reason why I ask is well ..

We have a couple fridges in the lunch room here and they were a bit of a mess .... the boss's son who's just recently stepped up in responsability has decided to take control of numerous things here.

The other day put a sign saying ALL ITEMS MUST BE CLEARED OUT EVERY EVENING AT 8 PM.

This morning we came in and everything was thrown out.
So now you've got 40+ people pissed off cause their frozen lunches drinks etc are all gone. :stongue:

I understand the need to keep the fridge clean but he probably should have given a week's notice...people did pay for that food and it's just being wasted if it's thrown out.

fridge tasking!

ours is supposed to be weekly but i dont think anyone actually cleans it. we have so much food in out trailer at the moment that we got ants last month. i think cleaning out the fridge is good, especially if a lot of people are sharing it. my trailer only has like 10 people so it is manageable for us to figure out when to throw stuff out ourselves.

i still have some left over pork loin that i brought in a week ago and never ate. but there's only like 3 of us here, so there's no big rules or signs on the fridge...just the other secretary yelling at me, "ok jamie, this is gross, what you do have a ing science experiment going on here?!"

im leaving it in there to piss her off.

If there is a policy you should make a secret fridge, hide it in the ventalation system or in the floor or something. Then have everyone swear into a this secret fridge society and have cool rings, meetings, uniforms.

we have pretty strict rules on our kitchen here at work... but they keep the fridge stocked with soda bought with the companies money which is pretty cool, so we have free soda all the time. (now if only i could convince them to buy Red Bull instead of Coca Cola!)

1. if you are take the last soda you must refill the fridge with whatever soda you took.
2. you must use waxed paper to cover your meal in the microwave.
3. each person must take the garbage out to the dumpster on their corresponding week (we have a calendar in the kitchen).

and if you break any rules you get your desk moved to the empty cubicle right outside the bosses office, lol.

They hardly ever clean the fridge out at my work. I saw a sign that said they are going to soon though. I think there's been a 2-Liter in there, that I haven't touched, for about 4-6 months. Gross!

The first rule of the secret fridge society is that you do not talk about the secret fridge society:haha:

There's basically one rule: if the food starts to move by itself, it probably needs to be thrown away.
