Hmmm, damage I don't mean to be offensive here, but you really should try to know what you're talking about before you start making comments. We are not arguing amongst ourselves, here in Montreal we are a friendly trance group, we might not be completley about love, but it is about peace, and a unity of trance.
Anyhow, we were talking about some guy on a different forum who was saying that trance is evil, actually i believe his words were
trance = devil
and that trance was the reason people were o.d ing on drugs.
Unfortuantly this upset us, and some people reacted negatively out of a first response, since then we've continued chatting and I believe this person has seen the error of his ways.
Please do not come to talk to us about peace'n'trance to boast about T.O. Once again, I'm not talking to you, don't take this in that manner, we be glad to have you come back and talk trance or what not with us here in Montreal Forum :) just carefull what you look at to make a first impression of someone's. |

just want you to know that you are jumping to conclusions......because I'm not boasting about toronto.......toronto has a vibe, and I love montreal....I love the feel, the women, everything.......
I just meant that the overall feel was gansta.......you know......

cool, Jd, good to know. Well I'm sorry also, I hope I didn't come off talkin like I didn't ever jump to conclusions as well.
Glad to hear about your love for Montreal, it's funny that you say you got the feel of gangsta, hehe, because that's actually what some people tell me about T.O. That the raves aren't all friendly, and that there's been some occasional physical confrontations at parties. Is that true? Is there scraps at some parties in TO? I've never seen any physical violence here, heard of some altercations with bikers and people they thought were dealing, but that's about it, not actually anything between people who were there for the party. I've been to a few parties here with ty attitude though, were everyone was acting like bs snotty clubbers, not the atmosphere needed at a party, know what I'm talking about?
Overall, so far every Montreal Trance lover that I've met personally have been extremely friendly, but I think maybe when u look at our scene (our after hours, main stream parties), there's been times with a lot of attitude. I thought that it might have something to do with the music, but it's hard to call, at Oasis 2000, there was wicked music, good trance, Oakenfold spun a good set, Tiesto spun an amazing one, and I thought that party had the worst attitude. All shirtless guys trying to hard to mack, and after all the girls that I went with told me the didn't like the party at all. |

yeah....man...good we're on the same page.
I don't know what to tell you.......tiesto's show at kool haus had a beautiful vibe....but you get the ones that aren't really comin for musak......some just for drugs, and whatever......and you get the shirtless ones......annoying......but overall..it depends on the dj...as you said....
as far as I know there aren't many scraps at the TO trance parties.....who knows what goes on at the jungle, and techno parties....
I know exactly what your talking about......it seems that the euphoria is gone........maybe the drugs have changed a lot.....I don't know......
Yeah.....and one of the biggest problems we've been talking about in the toronto forum...is the lack of chiks at our parties.........man it's in unnatural...disgusting. I dunno........were going to try and change that slowly........

Yeah, Tiesto's show here was amazing too, but the only problem is the promoters that brought him in, 514 productions, if they're having someone come to there club, they over pack the place way too much. It was a sweaty nasty place, not enough room to fully enjoy the music and dance, and every 2 secs getting bumped by people. Also at one point there was about a 20 min wait just to get out of the room, and considering the room is on the top floor, and all the bathrooms are on the bottom floor, didn't make for to safe a night. We're getting Armin Van Buuren at a sick ass club though!!! I can't wait, I'm dying to see/hear him spin live. "Aria", the place has an amazing setup and sickest lightning I've ever seen from any club or rave. They're just starting to bring in some mainstream trance dj's once in a while now, so I'm predicting the place is going to start getting hyped all over north america. take a look www.aria-nightclub.com if they don't have good pictures there, just tell me, I'll send you some that friends and I have taken personally from inside.
Oh Yeah, I think the parties I heard of that had the scraps and incidents, were the ones with Jungle and what not, I got the impression that most of the parties were mixed with Trance and jungle rooms.
I don't think it's so much the drugs that have changed things, I started going back in 95' (took a big break from 96-99), and I remember the drugs always being there, and about the same amount of consumption then, maybe even at a higher quantity actually, but there were less people going. Back then if you were going to a rave, majority of people thought you were gay or messed up, they didn't have a clue what it was all about. Now days, it's the norm, if you don't go, you're the odd one out. I think that's pretty much all that's happened, it's mainstream now, and it's still growing, but most people that are getting into it now, and are getting addicted, aren't getting addicted to the music. They're getting addicted to the drugs and the party, both of which are very strong temptation, and it's hard to resist something that feels so good. Unfortunately it's those people that don't seem to realize, that over doing it, will end up making them feel..... oh so terrible. Anything out of moderation can be dangerous, as soon as you let another substance or thing take control of your life, you’re lost, and sometimes it's hard to find the way back. That's life.
All right, well the lack of chicks part bro, I can't say the same here!! Montreal is filled with beautiful woman and they know how to party, there's a few sketched out crack heads, but also a lot of cool class acts. That’s definitely a strong alluring part of the partying.
Have you ever come down to Montreal to party?
Hehe, cool man, if I’m down in TO I’ll take u up on that offer, but the same goes for u if you’re coming to Montreal. Gimmie a little bit of advanced notice of around when you’d like to come, and I’ll tell you when there’s something real good going down.
