TA Track Of The Year Thread... (pg. 3)

Trance this, trance that.

In Silence is a very boring track and it shouldn't even be on top 40. I know 2004 was not the best year for trance but there are far better productions than this mediocre piece of remake FFS!

The only explanation I can think of is that the polls are manipulated. I mean at first they tried to modify the nominations according to their "taste". This, added to the fact that the "heats" are simply another way of manipulation, makes you think it wouldn't be rare if the polls are also manipulated.

anyway, Coup what happenned to the suggestions thread for next year??

Looks like "In Silence" is most likely going to win, with 8 votes ahead of Whiteroom. As I stated before, In Silence is a good song, but it doesn't really have that feeling and is also not as good as Whiteroom(IMO).

Reminds me of a ridiculous election that left a bitter taste in the mouths of billions of people last year. Yet Bush will be inaugurated tomorrow for another 4 years.

But the good thing about TOTY is that next year we will have a new song resting in the top spot.

Congrats Katana.

uh so what, 600 votes does not fully represent TA, the longer the poll is up, the more accurate it will be

I've seen you post some pompous cod in my 3 and a bit years here but this one really tops the lot of them.

1) I first undertook the toty and my first idea was that a lot of ta's have moved on from the stale offerings that some find appeasing, so I decided to broaden it to include some house/techno/electro tracks, but in doing so I upset t he ASOT majorities because I left out some of their favourite tracks (the fact that every single one the final 8 were in my original list is proof I included the most popular anyway) but tried too hard to diversify and found out that most people cannot see that. I held my hand up, appologised profusely and let fundy & coup take over.

2) You say the votes are rigged, how can this be ? Surely it is as easy for somebody to rig it towards whiteroom as towards in silence, and my feelings are that you are taking into account your personal feelings on the track, and the fact that the 'big' hyped things like asot or other ty websites didn't include in silence in their top tracks means that us here @ ta can't ?

Face it, It's got more votes and that is why it's the winner, any accusation you make will just make you look like a **** (even more so than usual)

In Silence is the best out of the tracks imho because it epitomises what was so good about past trance, the energy, the simplicity but the overall amazing result. It is as due a place in the poll as any of the other remakes were and if it wins (which it looks like it) then you have just got to accept that TA at least has 150 people with a decent taste left, something which has surprised me as I expected the tunes like white room & No One on Earth to walk it, but surprisingly and thankfully they haven't. With ATRC winning last year finally some dignity has come back, and if you cannot accept that people have voted then you're just a bitter little kid, jealous because you didn't get your own way.

I'd also like to put huge thanks out to Coup & Fundamental who have both put a lot of effort into this, like stamper in previous years. It's too easy for everyone like this gimp included to criticise the way it's been run but you have absolutely no clue as to how much effort goes into this, it's a shame you can't at least be a good sport in defeat to your tastes.

TA might be going to in many ways, but I will not just stand by and see you mock them just because you didn't get your own way 'master' grow up and deal with it, and if you can't, don't bother taking part.

I actually think it had more credibility than any other remakes/re-releases from this year or last... the Txitxarro remix at any rate, since it actually brings something new to the tune... takes the one simple element and twists it into a mindblowing new piece of sound which can destroy any dancefloor. It's gotten more recognition as a tune in its own right than a remake of an older track, imho.

Genuinely pleased it won :)
