I have been having a lot of trouble with ms i.e. lately. I am receiving pages that have only text (images don't load) or upon page redirection I receive 404 errors, which are easily corrected by refreshing... I have checked for ad/spyware malware and viruses, tried disabling my firewall, restarting my network equipment, I have even checked out the winsock2, no result. I think it is actually a problem with i.e. using ISO instead of Windows encoding, but I can't get it to switch back :(
any advice (other than using fire fox ;) ) would be most appreciated... |

You could always repair IE (I think it's under Add/Remove Programs) or failing that, re-install IE altogether. It's a simple solution, but it might work. I think there are some service packs for IE floating about on Microsoft's website too.

I am currently trying to replace some windows system files that are missing.... if you know that I am ing somethin up please let me know. This is what I am doing:
copy e:\i386\*.nl_ c:\windows\system32\*.nls /y /v
if this fails I'll reinstall i.e. if that fails I'll restore windows (the thing were it reinstalls all of your o/s files), if that fails, I'll cry and reinstall windows, then I'll promptly put my head through a wall.

There's a few easy solutions out of this. Why not take one of them? Anyways, IE isn't anything to go crying over. |

| eh, all is well, I did the restore thingy, I'll probably have to change a few settings back how I like them, but much less pain than a new install. |
