you have to pay an import tax of about 40% on all goods from america.

the only way you can avoid this is to go to america and buy it yourself, then bring it back. or get someone you know in amerca to mail it to you but state its value is hardly anything, but if it gets lost/damaged you will lose all your money apart from the small amount you said it was worth.

hmmmm. sort of. the thing is when you go through customs you have to declare items you bring with you. if you buy some djgear in the states you would not have declared it when you left your country of origin - cuz you didnt have it then. customs will see you went to the states mixerless and have returned with a mixer. hence 17.5% import tax + surcharge. know you dont have to declare it but you'll have a heck of a time trying to hide a off huge mixer from the x ray machines. i managed to get a gameboy through customs years ago just by swapping it between my backpack and my mum's handbag. saved a good £30 that time. with compact items you can get away with it by smuggling it through (i think thats the technical term for it). dont expect to bring back a pair of decks and not have to pay import duty though.

decks.co.uk isnt that bad. you can sometimes get stuff off turnkey.co.uk for cheaper but not much.
ashish
