Yeah a lot of psy sounds very similar these days, and its rather sad I think, cuz the genre itself has so much potential. Personally I prefer the old sounds, rather than what it has become now with all the blip blop, overused acid sounds, and hard beats. I reckon psy needs to go back to its roots and find a smoother 'trancier' sound...but then again I prefer the e over the a... |
I agree, psy was definitely more interesting some years ago. That's why I mostly listen to older stuff. Full-on isn't my favourite style either, but here's some good tracks I'm digging atm:
Hux Flux - Errorhead
Quirk - Cognitive Dissidents
GMS - 1.3 Crumbs
Space Tribe - Circle Of Life
Xerox & Freeman - Are We Happy
Astrix & Dj Dimitri - Evox
Psysex - Dominatrix |

| Cloudburst |
| One of my all time favourites is GMS feat. Chicago - On A Mission From God.... Goosebumps! :eyespop: |
|

| Cloudburst |
| Just wanted to add X-dream - Intercorporal Stimulator. That bassline is massive! |

That track has been one of my favourites for a long, long time. Great tune!
When it comes to new full-on stuff I prefer 1200 Mics (Chicago + GMS + Raja Ram), they're amazing. Just listen to tracks like Renaissance Superman, Garden of Eden and Language of the Future. :D |

| imo 1200 mics is one of the tiest full on producers out there. its the DJ Sammy of psytrance |

| I think they are very talented, and produces music that is a bit humorous too. But I can understand that it might be a bit difficult to digest for a digital blonde addict. ;) |

| IMO 1200 Mics are very inconsistent producers, they've made some really good stuff, but also a lot that's pretty awful. To categorize them as "Psy-trance's DJ Sammy" is a little harsh though, I believe that title belongs to Skazi. :p |

Nothing. Their sound just packs a serious attitude and is massive and epic, nothing like 1200 Mics.
More good full-on:
Aeternum - Sunstorm :eyespop:
Battle Of The Future Buddhas - Illusion
Sienis - Fungi Sapiens |
