Could ASOT's discontinuation be a big blow to trance? (pg. 2)

| Trance is dying again? I have no clue where people get these ideas from and why it is continued to be said. Just as many people love and listen to the music as did way before. Seems like its just the cool thing to say these days. :rolleyes: |

| bottom line is that virtually all contemporary Trance is lackluster, even pitiful to a great extent. Oddly enough, the Trance i relish that's being produced nowadays is very seldom, if not never, played on ASOT. |

| Interesting, cuz I cant get enough of it all. I dunno, but I just dont think its dying or will every die... will just evolve like everything else in this world. And I look at that as a good thing, not bad. :D |

Globally,trance is already in a sad state of affairs. It is not a thriving genre. It is a surviving genre powered by the DJ elite and the budding artists. The tremendous ASOT exposure is now temporarily non-existent.
I feel that this could be a BIG blow to trance music in the long run. Possibly to the point of near extinction. Think about it ppl.

why do you say its not a thriving genre? how exactly would you define a genre that is "thriving" ? |

| Why is ASOT a blow to trance in general? Did trance died again? I wonder how many times this genre has been declared dead.... This time it's ASOT? Well, I don't like ASOT too much....but I do not think it will be a blow to trance. Frankly I don't get it that people see it as more than just a radioshow with a dj that plays tunes, like every other. That a simple radioshow can kill genres, that's a little bit above my head. I wonder when GDJB starts to kill genres than....:nervous: |

there are tons of shows still promoting trance, Joof's Show on DI, Above and Beyond's Trance Around The World, Global DJ Broadcast (when they have trance guests)
ASOT's absence does have some impact on exposure, but Armin isnt done yet |

| i think the death of ASOT will be the rise of trance. it will rise up from all those average anjuna and armadacrap stuff being aired there constantly. |

| Maybe good trance will rise up again, but I think this year will see the rise of a different genre. I think personally that trance has had it. |
