GAWD I LOVE MY SCHOOL. I'm in Audio Production (kinda obvious) and it's so awesome.

I was just curious, how many other TAs have gone to/are going to art schools?

Messing with analog tape is fun. :D

And who is thinking about going to one?

Just wanted some thoughts.

edit: im posting from school right now

I do architecture..does that count
DJFreaq
Architecture is art, of course it counts.

Im looking to either go to the art institute in Chicago or in Charlotte for multimedia/web design...

whats the audio production course like?

that sounds cool too.

I love the Audio Production program, to the max. It was pretty ing core. Like my first day in Audio Recording Techniques, i took 8 pages of notes and learned how to operate, clean and deguass a ATR machine (analog tape recorder).

Just curious as to why you found the analog tape so fun...:conf:

I learned that in my audio production class as well and, frankly, cleaning and degaussing was boring. It's much more fun to set up the studio for a recording project.

Me too :)

And yes, I would definitely count that as an art.

It was the smell. I liked the smell of the tape spinning up and down. It was so cool, reminded me of playing with my records, it's so old school it's cool. I haven't gotten to setting up the studio yet, im learning recording and the Mackie 8-Bus right now. Easy stuff so far.

I wanted to apply there, but funds are low so I'm planning on taking a studio production course at Edmonds Community. Does the art institute have a two-year transfer program?
