awwww boo ing hoo the edm lineup isn't big the whatever lineup wasn't big blah blah blah...
quit your damn bitching and realize that you can't expect to have GV have more and more massive lineups every year...especially for edm. There might have been 'larger' names in the previous years, but every year the majority of the lineup has been new names and a few big shots, like the chemical brothers or armin. Trust me, I've gone to the 2002 and 2003 festivals(didn't go to 2004 because of a damn physics final...yeah I know I missed PvD) and they didn't dissapoint not because of the DJs like Tiesto, Oakenfold, Sasha and Digweed, Underworld, Hawtin, Masters At Work, Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada(possibly the best show I've seen at Coachella yet), Sandra Collins, Cattaneo, DFuse, and others, but because of the variety of talent and spread of taste...RESPECTABLE artists all over the globe not on a fixed genre theme(like the festivals in Europe which I still have yet to attend at least once before I die).
Plus the lineup this year isn't bad at all...Weezer, DJ Krush, Arcade Fire, AvB, Hernan Cattaneo, Junkie XL, Chemical Brothers,Aesop Rock, the awesome Black Star, M83, NIN...I don't see anything wrong with this variety of good artists.
So just go...you can see your edm artists on top of what I guarantee to be just as good new talent. |

Jesus, settle down.
A few people were a bit disappointed or noticing a trend. And we are only talking about the EDM lineup, obviously. No one here is really criticizing anything else.
And it's true. Over the past few years, the EDM lineup has been going down hill steadily.
See, when you see that happening, the EDM fans here hope that they will kick it in gear and focus on the EDM lineup a little more.
So your little rant there is invalid in this case. Understand what's being discuss next time before opening the trap.

| i just rememberd april 30th is sasha @ avalon...i have this season pass to go, what shall i do? well i guess it depends on who's headlining...or better yet ill just drive to avalon afterwards lol |

Agree with DaveT. I'm going (flying in from Texas!)...but I'm not quite as amped as I thought I would be, if some other bands that were floating in the rumor mill were also on that lineup (Boards of Canada, Portishead, Future Sound of London making up for cancelling last year).
DJ_Bas, if you can go to an all day show in 100+ heat, then party the night away, I am in AWE. |

For Sunday, what EDM acts should we see?
New Order, sure.
Prodigy, ok (I've seen them before, and they've been at Coachella before)
Junkie XL, fine (but been in LA 3 times over the past year)
So, your suggestions? |

I hate to be negative but overall a bit sigh of disapointment.
Much of the lineups would be great if it was 1986 & 1994.
I would love to see what NIN is up to today. That is one talented . |
