i did a search on this and it turned up 1 relevant thread that mentioned timework's sh 1001. unfortuneatly, the sh 1001 demo is not available on their website. :conf: . well it is but it returns a file not found error every time i try to get it.

soooo. considering the sh-101 is such a legendary peice of kit, and considering other legendary roland peices of kit have had software remakes made of them, does anyone know if anyone ever did a decent sh-101 emulation? thanks in advance

i doubt i can afford a real sh 101. in fact, i cant. its not eve nworth entertaining the idea - im totally skint.

They run for around $400 in fair shape. I bought one a few months ago to try it out...a blue one...on eBay...great shape. But I didn't have a lot of use for it so I sold it a few weeks later. It's a great piece of equipment and the sound is unique.

if your not gonna use it for bass then don't even bother....it can slam out some weird fx to, but its more of a bass machine.

thats primarily what i wanted to use it for. unfortunately its not an option for me to buy the real thing. i dont have $400 to spend. and i already spent £400 of my overdraft on an access virus b. i was hoping there would be demo VSTi ones i could try out and use until i could get the cash together. but i guess not.

well there are a few vsti's that try and emulate it but they don't do it 100% or even 90% in my opinion.

There is the:

SC 101 with demo downlod http://membres.lycos.fr/scdevelop/syntha.htm

SB 101 made with synth edit and is available on KVR

SH 1001 you already know this!

There might be a few more but i don't remeber.

even better. sh1001 sounds lousy and is waaaay too expensive. try freeware ASynth by antti (do not know the link now, should be easy to find).
