Well i was wondering how long did it take you to make your tunes sound professional? You know how long youve been producing, how long you work on a tune?

Well ive been listening to trance since i was 8 or 9 (im only 15) as soon as i heard ATB - Till I Come i was hooked in late 2003 i got FL and started playing around till around late 2004, which recently i have only just started to get some tunes out (crap btw) with obviously alot more software.

Anyway i was wondering?!?

i'de say 5-6yrs is about accurate. I'm at 4.5 years and my tracks are quite close.

all sounds about right. Patience is the key ;)
Derivative

I'm producing music for about 4-5 months now. I'll probably need at least 2 years.
State of Matter
Depends on your natural inclination and your drive. If you work really really hard all the time it could only take 2 years. Ive got about 4 years of experience and I think I'm finally at a level that I'm satisfied with.

I've been producing for about a year now. My tracks don't sound extremely professional, but every track i do sounds better than the last, and my sounds are shaping up a bit.

edit: Answered my own question...anyone know how much space you get with cjb.net?
RiCo
I'm getting there...started in late 2002...but it has been intermittently and only a few hours a week...not full-time like most lucky members of this site. :(

Not up to me to say if i am a professional or not.

But if i may be modest, i feel am close to where i wanne be, i think in 2 year or 3 i shall be at max.

Just need to find the right gear now and learn some more about music. the knowldge is Infinite.

Am 3 years busy now. (if you count from day one haxor Fl :p)

I got 2 years of experience for producing, and up till recently my songs have sounded a little bit professional, I have a CD of my first stuff when I using claps like snare drums and 3xOSC was my main synth. I listen to that stuff still to this day an I laugh at myself for all those mistakes, No fxs were used for my songs, no reverb or delay. I progressed alot in the trance world, I know what should be FX should to be applyed to what and I use EQ and compression. Although :(I suck at compression still. :(
DRM
taken me 4 years to get where i am now and im still not quite where i want to be but im pretty close. my stuff has been called pro by a fair few people but god its been a long long road
