didn't know where to put this, thought DJ booth, but it doesnt really fit there either... so mods, move this as you see fit...
finally, someone had some sense to start a decent radio show in my country. they are already setting up a timeslot and all that stuff. i was approached, seeing as i write for the local scene webpage/interview DJs and such, and they basically want me to run the show. i met with the guys who are setting this up a few hours ago (daaamn, what a nice party), and they were really down with me, and mentioned doing a soundtest with me on a mic to see how i sound.
this is something i hadn't thought of. of course, i knew i'd be talking on air, but, they want me to sound good, otherwise i could just write the material. one of my friends suggested i practice and brush up on my host skills.
i have recorded some of the interviews i've done, but mainly just for audio reference so i can type them up. the quality from the small recorder i use is anyways, but i'm not particularly fond of how i sound on it.
any tips? i don't know exactly how it is i should practice 'talking'. heh. anyone here hosted a show, or been in a situation where public speaking was constantly necessary? any help appreciated. |

| enunciate every sound in each word to be clear. And talk from your gut. that will give you a listenable voice. But the key is not to have dead air, so always have something going on. |
