Hmmm..

BeB is on the same weekend as Winter Music Festival in Miami, so that offers a lot of opportunities but also crosses a lot off the list.

Fer example, Thurs the 24th is the Dance Awards show. Anyone who is nominated will probably like to be there, because it's the only one of its kind in North America. Seems like Armin is willing to skip it this year, but last year all 3 of the biggies (Tiesto, PVD and Armin attended).

Saturday the 26th is Ultra Music Fest. Armin is scheduled to appear, as is PVD. Course, they could fly to Montreal right after, but double-gigging isn't usual for either of them (although both have been known to do it...)

The rumours say that either Thurs the 24th or Sunday the 27th is Magik Music Night at WMC. Could mean a lot of available ID&T euro DJ's are close at hand (well... 4 hours close.)

The Armada night is yet to be announced, but seeing as how Armin is in Toronto on the Thursday and at Ultra on the Saturday, I'd say Friday sounds like a good bet... means all his DJs are around for the weekend too.

Wonder if the BeB people are happy or sad that WMC changed their dates to this weekend.

Sunday night is BeB - you think Tijs would double-book?

Magik Thursday, Armada Friday, Ultra Saturday. Yikes. :thepirate

Is Bal en Blanc even happening? Their website keeps saying Coming Soon all over the place and there are no tickets through admission.com. I don't want to book a flight and hotel just to find out this thing is cancelled or what have you.

Anyone have any info on this year's BeB?

it is happening, of course it is.

Its not some mickey mouse producer that we're talking about.

Anyways, the admission thing is a real problem, but tickets are already on sale in the city... i guess they have some issue with admission.

The line up for 2005 Bal en Blanc isn't nearly as attractive as last year.

on some aspect you are right.

Sure for me AVB > Tiesto, and benny benassi comes from out of nowhere. But the house room is more solid than last years with Morales and Deep Dish.

Preach and Marco G will be there like last year too...

so if you're into checking Tiesto for 4-5 hours in front of 7-8000 people than I guess its worth it... or if you're into Morales and Deep Dish... then you know where you should be at.

Possibly. I didn't really "get" house music last year - so Deep Dish was the only act I saw in that room (and for no more than a few hours).

Now that I "get" house - and have figured out my preference (DDTT) - Deep Dish is good, Morales is ho-hum.

Considering I saw Tijs in December for 7 hours with ~3500 to ~4000 - frankly the above proposition is not worth the "drive to Acton" if you know what I mean.

Oh well - lets hope BeB can schedule themselves a little bit farther from WMC next year and that the line-up will improve.

Enraptured
I will be staying in town this year... my daughter's birthday is on the 27th, and as much as I'd like to see Tiesto, he doesn't compare!

:)

So Decadence it is.

Sorry folks, but have a great time, last year it was a quality show. Montreal KNOWS how to put on a party. VERY well organized, VERY well laid out.
Ortemy
Armin > Tiesto
Carl Cox> Benny B
Nu NRG rock :D
And I can check out Preach in Aria any time of the year:)
Hence, Decadence it is ;)
