that 'party' sucked

went to a 'rave' (ahaha a RAVE) at the Embassy in London on the weekend. I can only convey my disdain and contempt through smilies, and it looks something like this: :wtf:  :wtf: :haha:.

what a joke this scene has become; in my city, anyways. Candy kids, posers and ed up 15 year olds was the theme, along with a whack of junglists with whom i hid in the other room, away from the soothers and lightshows. I gleefully passed up the chance to see Liberator and watched a few of my buddies spin in some sick jungle sets before my friend and my girlfriend and I went back to a hot tub and some blunts, where we laughed our asses off (not really.. a few chuckles) at what we had just endured.

seriously, RIP raving in London.

sincerely,

a jaded raver.

so then whats the problem? Going to a rave and complaining about ravers and pacifiers is like going to mcdonalds and complaining about people eating hamburgers.

it's a bit different when there are 300 kids crammed into a bar. perhaps it's because i haven't been to a party in quite a while, but i was aghast at what i saw. this isn't Tdot, so the contrast of 'partiers' is quite sharp compared to the diluted throngs of the toronto 'massive'. it's not like i went to the party expecting a refined mass of ravers, i was expecting bull. but that's not to say i wasn't disappointed when my expectations were met.

considering its a small town and considering even in big cities raves arent that big anymore you are going to get an underground party that involves a lot more of the "wierd" stuff that refined clubbing culture usually supresses.

ooooh, I remember parties at the embassy in London...

For some, these parties are the shizzah. For me, I prefer clubs. I'm guessing you do too.
