Remixed, Remade, Redited? Wtf
View this Thread in Original format

Right this may be the wrong forum but...

Ive always wondered when a track is remixed, and then someone remixes it again but its exactly the same?

Eg Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar
Good tune, original etc
Then the Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (3 n 1 Remix)
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Marco V Remix)
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (System F)

These tunes are identical well cept ferrys but different percussion doesnt seem that different?

So wtf i could take a killer track add a new percussion and call it my own

Anyway id like someone lightin me up on this.

well the remixes are totally different to the orig, but the system f is just like the marco v one with heavier percussion at the start

there is no system f remix, and the three in one mix has come to known as the original, hence the confusion
rafale
Sorry to break it to you chum, but there's never been a system F remix of that song as far as my knowledge goes..

but yeah.. nalin n kane mix vs marco V mix vs j00f mix all sound really diff to me..the riff is there but hey if it wasn't no one would listen to it =P

3 in 1 mix isn't the original.. it was released 4 or 5 years after the original release: http://www.discogs.com/release/65309

unless you mean that there's lots of mp3s out there that label it as if it was the original

I know there is a couple of remixes of this tune which are exactly the same, maybe it wasnt system f cant quite remember i have them somewhere on cd and there are a few which sound the same

Rare is not powerful enough word to describe how hard the REAL original mix from around '91 is to get hold of.. as it was never released officially (i think) except for some acetates to closest friends and DJs, so it might be on some early '90s DJ sets if we're lucky, dunno. 99.9% of the versions out there titled as "Original Mix" are actually mislabeled and are some other mixes.

Nowadays Kid Paul Mix, also one of the 4 1993 mixes (Ralf Hildenbeutel's Porte de Bagnolet Mix and Kid Paul's Peace Mix got out on the 2nd EyeQ vinyl at the same time than the one behind the discogs link posted), is rather known as the Original instead of the Three n One's 1997 Mix. The REAL original is sort of a mixture of sounds from Kid Paul and Cosmic Baby mixes and Kid Paul Mix is a bit closer to the whole thing soundwise and stylewise i guess.

I won't bother to list all the numerous official mixes of Café Del Mar as i've posted them so many times before..
