Anyone else sick of seeing the huge amount of new amature dj websites around TA?

Bleh.. *warning* this may be dramatic for some of you..

It seems like sooo many users profiles on Tranceaddict have their little "www.me.com - I'm a dj been spinnin for 2 or 3 years, blah blah blah..i havent started to produce yet but soon enough.. bla blah" Along with some of their pathetic "studio pics" which end up just being some decks and a mixer..

AND THEN....

jesus, whats also mandatory on there websites is pictures of themself posing really seriously like they're in sasha or some trance god off a GlobalUnderground CD. Maybe it's just me.. I just had to say something.. it seems to be getting a bit out of hand. I mean dont get me wrong... I've found a few that are genuine.. but for the most part they seem to be VERY similar.. *shrug* ok flame me. heh btw.. I know this thread isnt very productive.. I just feel like bitching a bit..

i agree, some are a little excessive (dj_coleman) but some are great (Le Saux, Andrew Parsons, Cosgrove, Mitiska, DannyO)

Grassroot talent and you have a problem with this why?
Orbital32
Well since this place is all about music, i don't see why that is a problem. They are paying for their website and they are not spamming it at all. I personally think it's just you.
DJ Laz
there's a beginning to everything. they dont spam it.

but i guess it gets a bit rediculous when you see those poses, i know what you mean. lol but i mean hey we all need entertainment sometimes. lotta amateurs got talents. not only do big name producers produce good stuff...
mndeg
no problem with it, what annoys me is that commercial on MTV for MTV where it's like
"without TRL how would i know my music?"

sad sad state of existence

i agree with lane abt sites like dj coleman, which i can't tell if their real or a spoof, but like Dj Laz says , you gotta start somewhere. If you find these sites overtly annoying, wink, I should just suggets that you ignore them. I personally don't think its a problem as long as they don't spam, :)
DJ-Dank-Poo
dang, i haven't put up a serious picture of me posing yet on my webpage. i forgot about that requirement. :D no, seriously though, i know what you are talking about. i bought my webspace so I could post my mixes online. I don't know how to program in flash or anything so my site looks pretty shabby, but it gets the job done. since I came back home to ohio from school it allows all my friends back in VA to get my mixes, and of course whoever else is interested. thats all I was hoping for.

it's rather hard to start out in the EDM field as a DJ or producer. i think, however, the way it is is how it should be. if not for this, we will end up with an MTV-esque music culture who only listens to what everyone else says is popular. you notice how pop stations repeat their playlists almost every hour. its like they drill it in your head that the songs are good. the thing is with all the "amateur" sites up these days is this: if they are e, they will eventually fade out. if the artists have dedication and motivation, and appeal to the niche they are trying to, they will get support and thrive. you feel what i'm saying? just ignore ones you don't like, but when you come upon something that is groovy and you like, support it because you have really found something cool that not many people probly know about! i know there have been a handful of producers who started out in the "Amateur Producers" forum right here on TA who are now signed to big name labels. and a lot of that has to do with support they received from their peers here.

Fine with me. Who knows if I'm also one of those after getting my setup ONE DAY. For me I just envy them for being able to do such things :)

I don't know who you are, but bitching like this is indeed kinda lame imho. Those people who really think they are dj's/producers, but get nothing done, you can laugh at them if u want, but they probably try to do their best and show their website off to friends and . Spamming, I agree, would be lame.

Like some others said: U start from the bottom and try to work your way up, nothing wrong with that m8!

Cheers!

As a friend of mine says long time ago....

I´m lucky to have the internet, without it I´m not there, where I am now.......

but................ it doesnt really matter which way is somebody coming up, the quality is importent!

And to have a site over the internet makes it easier to get in touch with ...... listeners, DJ´s, promoter, whatever you need.......

its an advertising !!

That´s all! Advertising is everywhere........... ;) So why not DJ´s aswell ?? ;)
