This is for all the gearheads out there.
Has anyone ever experimented with using Rane-Serato Scratch (or other digitally controlled media) to control DMX lighting cues?
Ie. If we are talking about a totally digital environment, why couldn't the lighting cues be programmed to be song specific... and that the cues would be triggered by the timecode (or buried Midi signal in the same file) so that you had perfectly timed/controlled lights and effects song by song.
A buddy and I are trying to figure out if this is possible, but I am curious if anyone has tried doing somethign similar.
I know Ritchie Hawkins has been playing with some similar technologies, but I don't think his is quite so pre-programmed.
Thoughts? |
