What kind of Instant Messenger do you use ? I'm looking for a client that supports MSN, ICQ, AIM and Yahoo.
I'm currently using Trillian, but it takes up waaay to much memory, and is just plain slow.
Any better clients out there ? I'm interested in something with minimal GUI, and maximal performance. |

Pretty solid, open source, everything is based on plugins (including the actual network connectivity, so for example if you don't use MSN then you can disable the MSN plugin to get better performance).
Used it for a while now and haven't felt the itch to switch.

Trillian 3.0 Pro rocks my socks. |

I was just abut to say Gaim.
Or, if you use KDE, then Kopete has excellent integration with the desktop and other K apps. |

Kopete is quite good but i've found i had a problem with it when i switched to another username. It automatically adds all of my contact list to the other username's contact list. A bit strange, but i'm sure those little bugs will get taken care of soon enough. In the meantime i run Gaim or Amsn on linux and just msn on windows. |
