| i liked smallville in the 1st and some of the 2nd season. then my schedule changed and i constantly missed the last half of the 2nd season...then stopped caring. then the new season started and i thought it was a bit lame, cept for when lana got taken over by that deamon or whatever and had that hot ass tatoo on her back. oh then she had some kinda weird pseudo orgasm and she was naked and in bed with sheets and stuff. anyone remember that episode? |

What can I say...more American garbage/culture exported around the world...
It amazes me how much of an imbalance there is culturally. Sure we may speak of trade deficits but let us speak of social deficits. People the world over have heard of Tom Cruise or a show like the OC, but your average Joe Smith in Alabama would know nothing about great television overseas.
The frightening thing is American entertainment has so seeped into the national consciousness of countries overseas that these nations are now abandoning their own cultural distinctions. As a fan of foreign film I see this in the latest released worldwide. Some of my Indian friends (who agree btw) have shown me the movies currently coming out of Bollywood…what once was a artistically vibrant center of film now churns out cheap imitations of American films. Some of the music videos are blatant rip-offs of the schlock that would usually air on MTV…
This isnt an attack on American culture. I just hope that in this new world we retain some of our cultural identities that make the planet unique. I mean some kid in Sweden or Thailand doesnt have to sport the latest fashion trends coming out of Orange County...and when we travel the world over it would be great not seeing a CostCo or Starbucks around ever corner...lol |

i mean, like regular TV that isn't the premium channels. i know it's not technically on "cable" but i just call all channels basic cable. and i don't really compare shows on basic cable to the shows on premium channels like HBO/Showtime/Cinemax because those can get away with a lot more.
Six Feet Under and Da Ali G Show are probably my favorite shows on premium channels. |

I find the OC dull and booring. The only reason to watch Smalville, is Kristin Kreuk.
The best shows (in my opinion) is:
Lost
24
Family Guy
American Dad (when it comes :D)
South Park
Simpsons
I'm totaly hooked on Lost. It has to be one of the most interesting and well directed TV shows ever!
I can't wait till the DVD comes out. |

| I like the oc. I started watching it for the chicks, but kinda started to like the story. I liked one tree hill at first, but soon started to dislike it. It became boring imo. |

| one tree hill is so much better than the OC.the OC runs too slowly, the action takes episodes to build up and happen,in one tree theres loads happening all the time to keep u interested.theres more parties, affairs, drinking, sex action etc.more on the edge.plus the girls are better lookin in it... |
