Id suggest hitting schools, malls, stores, queen st, bloor st, etc instead of trying to syphon off other club's clientele. That wont get anyone anywhere.

+1

the scene definately needs to attract new people into the scene rather than trying to fight over the same crowd.. it's the only way that all the clubs are gonna be able to co-exist ..

Can't wait to see how this turns out.

[maxpain]MUZIK will never work out because everybody only goes to THE GUVERNMENT which is the best nightclub in the whole wide world.[/maxpain]

Holy crap!! Another venue?!?!?!?

It's gonna be interesting to see which ones survive and which ones get buried (if any).

Muzik Clubs Inc. has been given the go ahead to convert the Horticultural Building into an entertainment venue for concert and live music/nightclub performances operating throughout the year with a focus on Canadian talent. Muzik Clubs intends to begin internal renovations in November 2003, and will open for operation in the fall of 2004. It has contracted the architectural firm of Romanov and Romanov, who have extensive experience in the renovation and design of heritage buildings, to restore and improve this 100-year old building.

Isn't that building owned by the city of Toronto or has it been sold to this company?...If its privately owned NOW then that is an awesome space to have a club:D

All the new clubs popping up, and the majority of the clubbing population seeming to age, I wonder if there is going to be a bit of a lull in business for a bit.

@ least a few year gap. There is next to no weekday events that are doing well the past 6 months, although the small ones that are seem to have the younger crowd and are mostly jungle/breaks events. Maybe it's a legacy of the old massives.. all those all-ages partiers are in their early 20's now.

I'm not sure the EDM crowd can pack these venues week in, week out. Perhaps they'll be a top 40 hybrid venue, like Republik seems to be moving towards with their Edge 10 night, plus EDM events.

Things can only get better with all the choices, but it will be interesting to see what venues are underground, which are mainstream, and who tries a balancing act. (and who's sucessfull)

this has happened here where i live in australia. our scene here is in a bit of a nose dive right now as there are too many options for the clubbing crowd! too many events and raves and clubs that wanna be raves on a weekly basis is killing the scene here. everywhere is struggling for numbers.

i pray to god that it stays stable there as im gonna be there for a year as of august but too much competition will kill the scene and believe me it happens!! :(

Big Brand new club > Celebs + People with money > Hot Females who try to chase the celebs + people with money > Guys who pretend to be rich to get the hot females > Ugly females to pick up the rejected guys on the rebound

*This also occurs with the sex's reversed*

thats a sure success formula for any club tryin to get peeps

They should give each room to a different promoter, make one cover, and have the place to be all access.
