BT is my fav. so of course I think he's the best :D But chicane is definately one of my fav's their music is so emmotional and beautiful it's almost impossible to like it. All 3 of their albums I hold very close to my heart. Their set from Palladium and their early stuff with Disco Citizens are awesome. The other part of Chicane is Tomski isn't it?

Chicane is my alltime favourite music producer, as you can tell from my sig. He really knows how to touch your soul.
I dont think there are any tracks by him that I don't like.
Some favourites:
Saltwater
Halcyon
Leaving Town
Overture
Offshore (DC mix)
Don't Give Up (for my own reasons)
Don't Give Up (DC vs Tomski mix)

nd no, Chicane is not a group.

How was Greece? :p

And yes, Chicane kicks ass.

hehe AJ see this thread: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=232416
go half way down.

anyway back to topic, I recently saw the clip to Offshore for the 1st time, and the backdrop that he uses (the island, the beach, the birds) are EXACTLY what I visualise when I listen to the track. It was as if I had already seen the clip many times before.

As Peter said, Chicane is not a group.. but has always been actually more of a duo on the writing & producing side. The older Chicane productions up to Offshore Nick did with Leo Elstob who decided to leave to do other things, but later on returned to collaborate with Nick on the track Andromeda. Ever since Leo left Nick's 'partner in crime' has been Ray 'Madman' Hedges (who with Xtravaganza's head honcho Alex Gold even made a trance remix of Scooter - Move Your Ass! back in '95 under the Platinum People alias. :stongue: ). Nick has always been the main responsible of everything no matter who he's working with so it is a one man show rather than a group.

Chicane's live crew is another thing.. then there might be around 10 people on the stage along with Nick, including drummer, keyboardist (who has been Tomski mostly) guitarists, percussionists, vocalists, whoever needed.

PS. Tom "Tomski" Jankiewicz & Nick are very good friends and Chicane has even co-produced several Tomski related tracks and remixes, Tomski feat. Jan Johnston - Love Will Come being one of them.

Peter: There are at least a few vids of Offshore btw, the original one with Offshore (Original) and another with Disco Citizens Edit. Both are great, fitting in the track but i prefer the original.

BTW anyone know a live set with Halcyon (Original mix)? That's not the Palladium set? I've always wondered why it was never really played.. it's a great song.

Sharing of mixed sets has always been a bit of yes and no. Some say yes it's legal and some absolutely not. I guess it's ok as long as you don't ask $$$ for the mixes; selling them IS illegal because you most likely don't have permissions from the artist(s) to do so anyway.
