Hi guys
was hoping any Stockholm locals could give me some advice!
I'm coming to the UK in a few weeks time and as part of that trip we've booked a weekend in Stockholm (Feb 18th-20th) to celebrate my best mate's birthday - Sweden looks like a cool place so have been very keen to check it out for a long while!
Could anyone recommend the good bars and clubs to go out in? We're planning to get right on it while we're there so would love to know the best spots to hit on a big night out...
cheers

| Well, if you're into EDM then you should definitely check out the Monday Bar nights (on Mondays of course) at Göta Källare, the address iss Folkungagatan 45. |

stockholm is very serene...even if you dont go crazy its fun as .
MondayBar has some hot going on often tho.
its a sore spot for most of the Stockholmeinsis, but i think Gamla Uppsala is an amazing place if you can make the trip. the burial mounds are always beautiful. with a bit of wandering Stockholm wont fail to impress you...just avoid the Hari Krishnas...any talk of the Matrix and you should run| |

| I would recommend Göta Källare (www.gotakallare.com) even if its not a mondaybar evening. |

Well "Monday Bar" (Swedens leading EDM-party organizer) don't arrange a party every monday on regular basis. But as mr_fisken said Göta Källare is allright anyway (Göta källare is the name of the venue/club).
Check out our, SWETAs party calendar for upcoming parties.

And
http://www.liquidsunset.org/party/futureparties.php
I update both sites.
I'm not really updated with all the nightclubs since I mostly go to arranged parties, the clublife in Sweden is miles from the clublife in the UK, most nightclubs only play R'n'B/Hip hop/mainstream radio hits.
I can give you a few suggestions where to go but it all depends on what you want and how old you are... :)

hi guys
just checked this again and realised the I never hit the post button when I originally wrote a reply. Anyway thanks a lot for all the info esp Steve - we're here already now and had a wicked night out last night. No real bangin clubs but we ended up in some place called Berns and had a top nite meeting some very friendly people!
only down side to Stockholm I can see is its a pricey night out drinking but then we knew it was going to be anyway. this guy we met on the plane on the way over here was telling us all about some mad cruise that goes to Helsinki where everyone gets ripped so going to have to plan our visit around one of those next time :tongue3
Not sure where we're going to end up tonite - we may try Gote Kallare but if anyone sees this in time and has any suggestions give us a shout.
one last thing - any vinyl record shops to check out (that are open Sunday) ?
if anyone's ever over Sydney way give me a yell & will be happy to show you the ropes
cheers

I'm glad you had a good time out but yeah you can spend a fortune in the bars and especially at Berns were a "Long Islans IceTea" costs like 220Sek :wtf:
I know some people who will go to "Göta Källare" that you mentioned, those people I know are clubbers so I bet they choose the best place to be by selection of music. I have only been there when Monday Bar or Fokused had their clubs.
Tonight I'll be headin for "Grand Garbo" which is situated just outside of Stockholm in a town/community called Sundbyberg. At the mainfloor they play pretty good music for beeing a regular club, mostly cheezier kind of trance but still thats even better than say for instance "Blue Moon Bar" (which by the way is a meat market) were they only have crapmusic, R'n'B, Schlager and some rock...
I actually heard Armani & Ghost - Airport" at Grand garbo a couple of times
Only recordshop open sunday might be "Mega Skivakademin" at "Sergels Torg"
Have fun tonight ! // Steve :gsmile:
