my question is, how do i actually use these FXP files? i click the button where it sais 'load instrument' and i select a fxp file, but it doesn't play the actual fxp. i know i'm doing somthing wrong, but i just dont know what. please help me :)

fxp files are single patches that you load into softsynths. fxb are whole patch banks. they are like configuration settings. you load a patch. then play some notes. it'll have a preset sound. load another patch with different settings. same notes. different sound.

yea. basically fxp files arent audio. they are like presets or libraries of presets for a synth. when you load up an fxp file you have to know what synth its for. for example the softsynth reFX vanguard ships with the default soundbank of 128 patches. flicking through these you'll see they are different preset sounds. you can load up a different fxp by choosing import cubase patch/bank and selecting (for example) the DHS soundbank.fxb. that'll load up an entirely different set of 128 DHS signiture sounds for you to use. simple.

PS: i would remove the bit about that cd having VSTs on it too. it just looks bad. and its a touchy subject round here :eyespop:
